This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Yeah. Next time I want to ride her in the water. I think that would have been pushing it today though.
I was so mad though. There was a little boy that ran up and I stopped him with a hand sign and we talked a minute or so. I was watching him and a car passed SL so close that he could have easily reached out his window and touched her. I don't know why people do stuff like that.
It was a good start to get her in :~) Your water feels warm to walk in right? The ocean remains cold here... so there's that. :~) And the Pacific is always noisy with lots of surf roaring... So there's that too... but I'd hope I could get him to walk in it.
Did hubby stay the whole day or did he leave when the others showed up?
It's too bad the others decided not to stay the night because that would have been fun and you could have done it again tomorrow... but on the other hand, I bet you both felt you'd expanded your horizons quite a bit for one day. I hope you get to go again soon on another ride... Is this a club? Are there other rides planned?
Busy place! I saw there was lots of activity and horses and vehicles in the picture. Tourists everywhere you look :~\
How long of a drive to where you went? Is it an easy trip, or a major drive?
It's "refreshingly cool" You would probably call it warm though:') She was very hot , so now it's a good thing. She did want to sip the salt water though. I let her try once figuring she would leave it alone. She liked it so I had to stop that.
No, he hung around since I said I was going back. He was planning on dropping me off and taking the van back. He spent a lot of time visiting with the game warden and people. I don't think he was bored.
It really was light now that the vacations are over. It's usually packed in the summer. It's about 30 miles from the stables (20 from my house)
Well, I'd hate to see it heavy then :~)
Well, we worked hard today on projects and we're heading to bed. Great pics, have a good night :~)
It's a club. They ride ever month when they don't cancel.
Night to both of you.
Cindy, Very nice pictures. Very cool, the one of you walking on the beach. The more you do rides like that, the better your horse will get. I am glad you went and had a good time.
Wedding was very nice. Kids stayed at a motel last night as the wedding was about an hour's drive away. Hopefully, they don't have too bad of a hangover, as there is a lot to do today around the "ranch". I left right after dinner, because I had to feed. A few shots.
Alison and her Daddy.
Alison looking rather bored, but a nice background. :') She must have tired of holding her little basket.
Beaker, if you are out there, I was "fixen" you up with our trainer. He was ready to make a "road trip" to Mass.
Not a bad deal if you can get it! Is he one of them cowboys there?
I immediately recognized Pat Parelli in your pictures. My daughter is training Bentley (her rescued Premarin Pintabian colt) and retraining PB (her rescued Arabian) the Parelli way.
You are correct about the time involved....lots of it...is needed.
No, this is him. silly smile and all. He was the one riding the paint horse, I posted a while back. Very nice kid. He said he would buy her a horse!..lol
Hey - Beaker! Horse too!
Not woking, lysie, working. ;-)
How is Bowdie doing, and all the mares? When do we get more pictures?
Thanks. Last light I was full of myself and very proud of me. Today, I stood up in the hall at church. Oh............:'(
