The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Thanks everyone. Things will work out eventually. Everything is too complicated to post, but Maine should be a nice escape for a while. It's gorgeous and there are a lot of horses. :-) I miss everyone on the thread too, and I hope that I can get back regularly soon.

That looks so good. At the cook out yesterday, they did a turkey and a big beef round over a wood fire. There is something special about cooking outside.

Enjoy!

Hey Hello! Nice to hear from you. Life is full of drama, things will get better for you.

Yes, the horses are ours. Well, actually my daughter bought them. We could not leave them there, winter would have put them over the edge, I am afraid. We had to build another stall today, to put Jody in. So glad my SIL is a carpenter. We had enough left over wood, to make a pretty decent one for her.

Please keep in touch.

I'm looking forward to the pictures. It sounds like Hope did great :)

I thought we were finished with hay until next summer but Bob said today we will have to get more. Prices just keep going up and up but I have a feeling it will be cheaper now than next spring when everyone is out.

:) We had catfish, blackeyed peas and fried zucchini for dinner last night.

Sounds like you had a big day yesterday too.

Well - are you going to get the app gelding or still thinking about it?

My DIL called me last night - first time I've heard from her in a couple of months. She wanted me to babysit my grandson Friday night while she and my stepson partied. I can't do it because Saturday is our last show of the season (she never gets out of bed to pick him up before 9 or 10 and we have to leave at 5am.) I figure she's mad again and I won't hear from her for another two months or so.

The trick is to get the kids inflatable horses for the pool, you sit in a lounge chair sipping ice tea and taking pictures :)

YUMMY!!! I like what you are having better than what we are having!

Grilling burgers and dogs outside in the rain. Not complaining at all about the rain as this was most welcome. But, I like turkey lurkey better!

My horses are only coming outside to drink and roll in the mud. Then, they rush back into the barn so the rain doesn't wash off their beautiful muddy selves!

I should have taken pictures when I went out to feed but forgot to. In-laws are here for the cookout in the rain so better get back and check on those burgers. I just stole a few minutes to check in and see how everyone is doing.

Sorry. It's hard. There isn't a way you could take him with you?

I tried. They had floaties and I was sitting, lounging, drinking a soda. Nothing doing. They wanted Grannie in the pool too.

I wish, Bob would love to have him in a leadline class. His parents wouldn't like that. He is just six and requires someone's undevided attention still. No way we can do that and get the horses ready for the show and then show.

I understand about the pool, Gavin wants me doing whatever it is he's doing when he's here. We play leggos alot :). Also pick flowers and go for walks.
