This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Y'all shouldn't do that to a person! I sure am glad we don't have any like that around here. I'd've died if I'd found that sucker in my house.
Go camping in Big Bend. I kid you not, they are protected. You get written instructins not to kill them but to just "sweep"them outside of your room.
Well, I wish one of you would read it...it's just got such wonderful characters, altho remember I told you some were a bit.....scary:)

LOL....I did just about die:) I'm sure it would have made a funny home video watching me trying to get it out...everytime I got it on the hoe...I was hollering really loud,,,AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.....I'm just glad it was close to the front door and I didn't have to flip it far:). Actually it did flip up on the big front door that was open, so I slammed it shut and that threw it out on the porch, then I flipped it off the porch....
I'm back to putting on my boots at night when I get up to visit the bathroom in the dark:)

I'm sorry, but any spider big enough to deserve it's own zip code is getting stomped. But then again, it might just piss him off, so I'd probably just decide that possession was nine tenths of the law and give him the room. ;o)
A spider that big is gonna make a big mess if you stomp it.
I was up and 6, Celia got here at 8:30 and we were out on the horses for about 1 1/2 hours. Not a long ride, but a good one. She has left Stormy here for the week, and we plan on riding every morning (but not hard), till Thurs. Thurs. Chris comes to shoe.
Yesterday morning, with all the doors open, Bink brought in a dead rat...not a mouse a rat, and left it laying in the hallway....it's head was half chewed off...Cats...

I think we've both got too much "Wild Kingdom" going on around the house!
I just can't stomp on things that squish...eewwwwwwww...can't even think of it...if I had lost track of where he was, I may not ever be able to live in the house again tho....he had to go OUT!!! Of course I lost track of him out in the garden...

Glad to hear about the ride... we hope to go this week on a ride. We've been lazy, but if we piddle away these opportunities to ride before summer's over, we'd be fools. Winter's long enough without wasting the last half of summer!
Oh yeah, you were the one who had scorpions in the house too. Jeez! You got some nasty neighbors! I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall watching you while you were trying to flip that bugger outside. If it'd been me I'd've been been doing my squealing, dancing, cussing routine at the same time.
I think the funniest video I ever saw was of an older black lady who was trying to boil some live blue crabs and they got out of the cooler and were crawling on the counter and falling on the floor and she was trying to scoop them up with something and dump them in the water and she was screaming and dancing and yelling "OH LAWD! JEEESUS!" every time she scooped on of them up. I about died laughing coz I could relate.

Oh GAWD! I don't even want to think about that. I would never have been able sleep in there again, that's for sure!
I've always had a fear of opening my eyes in bed and see one just sitting there on my pillow:).....not a good thought.
