The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Morning. I have my 4 y/o grandson today. I was reading your post and asked him when he was going to school. He told he can't go to school because he "fights"

Somehow that makes the tragedy worse. It is horrible enough but I was able to distance it until now. Strange how finding out the victims were members of the horse community makes it personal.

Oh dear... - you could scream, but it wouldn't get you a machine that works I guess. Jeepers. The blessing is his condition is not life threatening with the delays, I don't think, is it? At least you have time.

Prayers for your patience :~)

That young man Thomas Fayhey ? I've seen or heard that name before. Maybe I saw him on tv or something. Out of all of them his stood out for some reason.

The blessing is that it is not life threatening. I called them about an hour ago, because I wanted to know what I was doing when I leave work in 2 hours. The office manage said he wasn't coming home today, but the Dr. was not able to come to the phone right then. Told her no problem, he can call me when he is able.

I asked how Deuce was behaving (worrying like a preschoolers mom) and she said he had them laughing. Apparently he was trying to lift up the wheelbarrow and turn it over as his stall was being cleaned. He's such a goof. At home he carries a full sized road cone in his mouth when he's playing outside.

Duchess, you've got some FINE looking hosses! And I think you're imagining things about Prez losing weight. He looks GREAT to me!

Cyn likes to get in the way when you're cleaning stalls too. She'll stick her head in and rummage through the contents of the barrow. More than once I've dumped the next fork load right on her head :~)

I've done that to Rusty before...I couldn't leave the wheelbarrow in while cleaning, he always dumped it....

Thanks for the compliment. Prez's tack fits a little looser but that's about all and I can see the difference in his hip. Admittedly he was carrying a little extra weight because of the halter classes so it's not hurt him at all.

Hey, just thought I'd tell you. My DIL was asking if I had any books she could read. I gave her Watchers, on Thurs....she's been up till midnight every night reading, (and reading is hard for her, she is dyslexic), she's more then half thru it..loves it, can't put it down.

Just a FYI:)

Well, I slept in today till nearly 9.

Was up too late, couldn't sleep, I think it was that strong espresso I had around dinner time! :~)

And Tweek today has brought in a live mouse and then lost it behind a bookshelf. I think maybe we know now where the lizard came from.

I love to read books but I treat myself only occasionally. I have no self control. I have to read it from start to finish. A chapter here and there just won't get it.

Kind of hard to get a horse to lay still that long though:')
