This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
You should have let him finish eating. He looks mad.
"Snowcap with white tipped ears or a few spot leopard will always produce color, no matter what it's crossed with"... Guess we'll see in a couple of years if it's true.
Was he sired by the same horse as Lacy?
I think probably some good feed at regular feedings and worming will work wonders. I'll guess that they were fed when someone thought about it, and not at regular times.
No, Tuffy's sire is the stud of a friend of ours. His dam was bred the year we got Sonny but about two months before before he came.
I didn't look, I just happened to know he was still in tact :~)
I hope there's no problem too. If they were in otherwise good care, I'd suspect underlying problems, but the neglect of the feet as well as the feed indicates to me they just weren't getting enough of anything from these people.
No chance they are "expecting" ?
I'd certainly hope not. :~o
10 round bales here are worth at the very least, $1000. Cheap crap is $100 a roll and it goes up from there.
Can't wait for pics! Good on you for taking those horses.
Tuffy is the prettiest appy I've ever seen. Isn't he the one you named "Final Fantasy"?

He's about fourteen, over 16 hands. He's a calm boy on the trail, got a nice temperament, feet of steel, and is in good health. He is free to a good home. I would like to find a place for him before the winter, and he sure as heck would love a job! Thanks so much for your help. Please feel free to pass on my info (below) to anyone who is interested. Rather, we should skid in sideways on a breathless horse, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up and worn out, hollering: "Woo Hoo what a ride!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well , if they were hit and miss with feed and care, would they know if they got to a stallion?
Well, I just hope not. It's the last thing they need. Lucky for horse owners, stallions aren't ~all~ that commonly just wandering around, but we never know I guess. Stranger things have happened.
Well?
Oh dear... he's pretty!
Yes, He's Final Fantasy. His dam is Fantasized (Farah) and his sire is QuincsGrandFinale. I was hoping he'd be Farah's last foal too.
