This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

If Prez dropped weight, it sure is hard to tell in the pics. He looks good to me. And Tuffy is really awesome. Congrats on the wins and posting the pics.

I'm glad to hear the gelding is calm and gentle. I bet he'll make a great horse for you.

Yep, that's the one. You're right, Bob figured that after the fact I wouldn't throw a real fit since I always get caught up in how my babies did. But shoot, I really would have liked to watch.
Well, when they get on the second time, I hope you're there with the camera.
It is a shock sometimes, to find out the kind of people who will neglect and fail to manage their animals. This woman is your daughter's cheerleading coach, right? Someone you think is a person with a reasonably well-managed life, and then you find out ~this~ about her. It's like my former friend that I visited out of the blue one day and saw her horses in such deplorable condition. I could never respect her again, she wasn't just an idiot, she knew better.
I don't know who we'd expect to find, in neglect of their animals, but it's just surprising is all, sometimes, who we do find.
Tuffy's not a gelding.

You know, I hope it is in Tweek's belly, better than the idea I'm going to step on it in a dark hallway. :~)
You are a good person. Try not to be too upset at your friends. They couldn't take care of them so they found them a good home. If they had wanted, they probably could have got more , selling them for meat.

Huh. You eyes are better than mine. I don't see anything. I mean anything.:') Maybe it was Frog's horses I was thinking about.
I'm glad. He's gonna make some pretty babies, I bet.
