That's really cool.
Hey. Yeah, I couldn't find our weather bane. I played with it last night. FR mail.
I've ridden an old QH mare aged 29 or 30 or so, and sometimes she gets it in her to act like a 2 year old, and either royally misbehave under saddle and decide that everything is out to kill her, or go tearing around the pasture turning on the afterburners with the rest of the mares. Usually after she does that her back is sore for a couple of days because she acts like a bronc. :-)
That's it. Cindy, Okie and Sarah Lee .
She has all the young horses running for cover when she does her Queen of the Night act . . . she shrieks and bucks and rears up on her hind legs and chases them around with her neck weaving like a snake.
If you walk into the pasture while she's doing all this, she comes back down to earth and minces towards you as prim as a debutante, "What? Did you want to speak to me?"
Believe me, yes three dogs can be a hand full.
One can be a handful. I haven't felt good today or done much. I'm trying to straighten the kitchen. I hate the "what did you do today?":')Instead of explaining, I think today I'll just say "nothing.I sat on my $%^ all day".

Isn't it amazing what some food and hoof care will do for a critter?
Thread here: Does it get much worse?
Poor baby. I've never seen anything like that.
The only time I've seen it, the poor beasts belonged to an old friend. I had to hit that friend pretty hard with some threats, and I brought Bob along with me as backup.
The most distressing thing to me about the pictures is not the shape of her feet, but how in the first picture her back is arched like a cat. She was enduring a lot of pain just to stand there.
But I post it because there's hope she'll have a life that's better now.
Heck you earned it, I say do nothing for a few days if you want to. If the folks get hungry tell em to pick you up something when they order their food. It's time they waited on you for awhile.
That doesn't happen in the wild does it? I thought they broke off. How come her's didn't?
Spell check Reba, you need to spell check.... dang it.
Hers probably didn't break off because she was in a small pen where she couldn't move much and she was in deep crap and mud.
Soft ground and not moving, and she's not heavy like a horse, and they don't wear like they should.
The horses I saw had shoes on, that kept their feet from wearing, and they went straight out in front like skis, as long as the rear hoof on that pony. Same thing... small pen, muddy soft ground, and shoes.
I do like doctoring them, don't I? Always have, even as a kid. :') When do you think yall will move?
For me crutches are easier to mange than a walker. At least I can lean on the crutches and still stand upright. With a walker I could not lean or sit down when I needed to. Be glad to go back to work. To be stuck at home and cannot do anything is not fun.
The kittens have their snoots full of catnip for the first time. They are sound asleep and one is using the other as a pillow.......
Kittens are so cute.
