This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Well I might have to bring Gary along, he may hold Blade hostage if I plan a trip like this without him! Frog, isn't your other trailer a 3 horse?
Well, maybe my husband will come too, he just sortof thought, on first thought, that he'd stay back to care for our critters.
It's cool that you all can consider driving with horses there... I'd love to bring mine so we could all meet everyone's horses too, but that's just way too far.
Yeah, it is, but it's just a trailer. No sleeping quarters, and most of all, no A/C. It'll just be a few days, surely he won't mind us going without him. He and Jace can keep each other company.
Well, the invitation is for ALL:) and that includes tag alongs, riders or not, We'll put everyone Horse/people, somewhere:) I'm sure I have enough panels to make enough pens.

How far ahead will you have to know the exact dates to get the time off?

They're pretty flexible around here with our vacation schedules, so I really don't need that much warning. A couple of months would be nice though, just to get things lined up. I don't know about BladeRider's schedule though.

I can just see us having the dates set, you all show up and we get snowed in:) The good thing, it never stays the same for very many consecutive days around here. I'd say our best bet, with this many is plan it for Oct.

Same here, that is not a busy time of year so there should not be many vacation conflicts. As long as it is not to close to Thanksgiving I am good.
I'm flexible as well.
I better get started on the lawn here, my life today is all about mowing. :~)

Not yet. But it's close and it's on my list for Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
I've trailered all over the place. The furtherest I have been is to Raleigh NC and back again. In December, I'll be trailering 3 horses for a friend who is moving from PA to Texas. I love to travel anyway. It is even more fun with the horses. Just takes a little planning if you have to overnight somewhere.
Our Green Corn Festival starts tonight. That will keep us all in town for most of the weekend. Kristy is running in the rodeo Fri, or Sat, and the jackpot tonight.
I need to be heading out too.
