The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

So was there squealing?

Good morning. Sorry I checked out on you last night, I was tired.

Good morning. Thanks.

I'm now to the stomach doing cartwheels:), The thought of wondering around an airport so far from home, alone....

She does have some freckles, the camera washed her out.

We got a little rain last night, still sortof drizzling now. But the forecast for the rest of the week looks great, you're right!

Good morning! Today's the day :~)

Yep it is:). So, who gets the dubious pleasure of picking me up...or are you both coming? Just in case, my flight # is AA 1925. I think you can check before you head to the airport to see if it's on time. When we printed my tickets last night we checked, and it looks like the flight is full...

We'll do better than that, we'll post the live flight tracker that shows the plane traveling slowly across the country :~) Have Mack check in here I'll ping him, he'll know the minute you're on the ground if he looks at that. How early do you have to leave to get to the airport on time?

I'll be coming to get you and ecurbh will stay home, mostly because our Ranger only holds two people! I'll take a current pic of me, and our Ranger this morning so you know what to look for... Maybe you can do the same today just in case so we recognize each other for sure!

We should talk about where to meet. In the old days, it'd have been worth it to meet you getting off the plane, but since we can't do that any more it's not as fun. When you get to baggage claim here, you'll see the long row of luggage roundabouts and hopefully the one with your flight number on it. There's big windows along there and right outside is a passenger pickup area that's about 4 lanes wide where cars can come to meet you. They won't often let the cars stop there long, we have to keep moving. But I can keep circling around until you're there, or stop and wait if they aren't being too picky about it. It depends, on how busy they are. It's ~easiest~ to wait outside there, if you're confident you can get your bag and go outside. Alternately I could park in the parking garage and meet you inside at your baggage area if you want. That's as far in as I could go. What do you think?

I'll make sure you and Mack have got our cell phone number. Do you have one?

I had to pick someone up from the airport awhile back. She described herself as older and with white hair. Actually she was probably in her 50's with light blond hair and of course we just happened to have a bunch of seniors come in on that flight too:')

Good Morning.

Lots of excitement today, as Becky is flying to Washington.

Rain, rain and more rain for next few days.
This is really getting old.

Heh... Funny!

I was just thinking, we'd recognize each other's horses in an instant from a distance, but our pictures never focus too much on ~us~ :~) I know I hate pictures of me :~o

I told Mack to watch the thread tonight:).

My boarding time is 4:07. Is getting there an hour early early enough? That's what I'm thinking we did in the past. It takes about an hour to get to the airport from Bixby. Allow time to park and get in, I'd say we'll leave Bixby, 1:30 or so...

Boarding time in Dallas is 7:22.

Arrival times aren't on the tickets.

I don't think we'll have trouble recognizing each other, really, do you?

I'll try to get a picture of me, but Mack is going to town this morning, and won't be here to take one, and I'm not about to take one right now:)....

A rainy good morning back at you. Another show this weekend and more possible rain. Ugh.

Neat thing happened at the barn last night. Luckily it happened about 10 minutes after I was done working Whitey. Heard this really loud roar from above and thought that a plane was crashing in one of the fields. Ran out of the barn and got my own private flyover from the four fighter jets going to do the flyover at the All Star game. It was so cool to watch them fly off into the distance.

Good morning.

Have a safe flight Becky.

Had an interesting experience last night. Rode for over two hours (and I didn't ride last week 'cause we were out of town for the Fourth . . . THAT was interesting - I'm kinda sore this mornign.) While we were just hanging out in the ring waiting for our turn to jump, Gracie snorted and swung her head around. I followed her gaze, and there at the end of the ring was a DEER. Just standing there. All the horses were very uneasy, so I rode over and shooed it off. (Gracie: "You want me to walk TOWARDS that vicious thing? Are you out of your mind?")

So did all the horses survive the night? She did loan you a saddle too, right?
