The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Hey, it's actually not a bad idea as long as you used a clean new rake. I've probably roasted weenies and marshmellows on sticks that were dirtier than that.

Now THAT'S a redundant question! If anybody's gonna post pictures, it's gonna be Hair.

So when do you go pick up the horse?

I came home to feed, and took a power nap:). Waiting for some aspirin to kick in then I'll probably head back to town.

Gonna go in about an hour. We're ready for her - just have to wait for Tiff to get home from work. :~)

Well, we had a teensy slowdown... Went to hook up the truck and trailer and noticed the truck was a little low on one tire and had a nail in it! So we had to RACE to get there before they closed. That's fixed now, we're back home and have the trailer hooked up - headed over to Tiff's now to get Mia.

OOHHHH, sorry about the tire. Never fails.

We just got done printing up my tickets for tomorrow. I guess we'll have to print my return ones from your place.....I'm not good at figuring this stuff out, hope you can, or I may be stuck there forever:)

I was checking in to see if you had the horse...

Looks like we may get rain here again tonight.

We're back with horse :~)

Mia traveled really well over here, and she seems fairly calm about the whole thing.

Walked her through the back forty to show her the fence, and get her settled in...

Bay acting like something he's ~not~ :~)

A bunch of very curious bay horses, and one fairly bewildered grey one :~)

We lost the camera battery just then... I realize I haven't gotten one that really shows Mia yet, I'll try again if I get enough of a charge before dark.

Oh - and your gift is perfect, btw. The halter she has on is an extra I had in the trailer, she wanted to keep hers if she could because she's has more horses than halters. :~)

She's really cute. She's the compact little Egyptian type, really pretty face and pretty wide in the chest... a little round, she's always been round since Tiff got her. Tiff dieted her pretty hard when she got her and Mia never lost that belly. Tiff's had her several years now. Maybe she had some babies in her former life.

Here she is in a couple more... we've got them fed now, and we're about ready for bed, hope I don't hear a lot more squealing :~)

Check out the slide on Cyn ;~)

Huh. She told me her's are all alfalfa raised. I caught grief that time when I moved my horses to Houston too. It was like why are you feeding them pellets ? I just told people it was a psy thing and that my horses liked to eat pellets and I was just keeping them happy. It was easier to let them try to figure that out than explain that I didn't want to change their diet because they weren't staying. Don't know how I got on this topic...
3 more days then I'm only working 2 days a week. I have Monday already planned. Horses, clean the house, eye doctor, bank, finish that table, planting, clean out my car, ..... :')
