The end result will be an overall equalization of wages for Americans, Mexicans and Canadians. That’s good news for Mexicans, but very bad news for everyone else.

Vicente Fox's legacy.

Of interest is that the North American Union plan has no reference to any electoral government.

And this melding to North America is planned to be done by 2010. That is 4 years from now.

It is details somewhat even on the White House website:

Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America Prosperity Agenda
White House Features - A Gallery of our special pages. Federal Facts. Federal Statistics. West Wing. History · Home > News & Policies > March 2005 ...

Especially, this segment of the SPP:

Stimulate and accelerate cross-border technology trade by preventing unnecessary barriers from being erected (e.g., agree on mutual recognition of technical requirements for telecommunications equipment, tests and certification; adopt a framework of common principles for e-commerce).

After market harmonization, comes 'legal harmonization'.

THE ECONOMICS OF LEGAL HARMONIZATION

Differences between legal systems create obstacles to transnational commerce. Countries can reduce these legal differences through non-cooperative and cooperative adaptation processes, fostering networks of trade that link diverse legal traditions. In this article, we study the process of legal adaptation, looking at non-cooperative and cooperative solutions that can alternatively lead to legal transplantation, harmonization and unification.

The elimination of the customer base for corporate goods, id est the American middle class, seems to be a rather foolish mechanism of increasing corporate profit. Rather it will, if successful, result in a global depression.

Poor people and wage slaves do not purchase much more than food, clothing and alcohol.

This conspiracy theory has been kicking around for a century; and it has as much merit today as it did in TR's day.

If you are expanding your market from 300 million 'consumers' to 6 billion, the American middle class is nothing but a gnat to be swatted, because they will get in the way.

A local talk show here in Kansas City was talking about the NAFTA superhighway. According to a credible caller (can't remember the credentials), the "port" in KC is only for southbound trucks to Mexico. Additionally, the author tries to fault Bush here (as is the trend), but wasn't this highway's idea conceived by Bill Clinton?

We used to have these guys who regularly took photos of military tanks and other tracked vehicles painted white sitting on rail lines in Mississippi.

They'd combine that with the Bilderburgers, the Tri-Lateral Commission and the United Nations to come up with the idea that the United Nations was preparing to take over the United States militarily.

Jim managed to encourage those guys to go elsewhere years ago.

However, looks like they're back!!!!

(BTW guys, this all reminds me of the Dubai Ports Panic. Didn't you ever add up the numbers? The Dubai interests were going to make less than $100 per "port" per day ~ chump change. I can make that on a hot dog stand at L'Enfant Plaza every day but Sunday.)

I-69 is primarily for commercial traffic between the Greater Detroit area and Evansville, Indiana. The extension through Illinois to Arkansas and Texas is just a minor spurline.

Hmmm...makes you wonder. If they weren't doing for the money, then why were they doing it?

They were doing it to make sure they could schedule their own ships for unloading first. That way they reduce total round-trip transit time between ports of origin and destination.

In modern shipping, these time differences can be worth millions of dollars.

Bush, like his father, is a globalist. Remember Old Man Bush and all his talk about a New World Order?

The first two times I voted for W, I was in denial. But any time a man could embrace a mortal enemy like Teddy Kennedy on immigration, and put himself in opposition to a majority of his own party, then you understand that he like his father will not think twice and turn his back on those who had faith in him.

Imagine the arrogance necessary for one to believe he's justified in wrecking three vibrant cultures – the US, Canada and Mexico...

Seeing "Mexico" and "vibrant culture" in the same sentence just doesn't cut it with me, unless you consider a "vibrant culture" as one that gets results like this:

That's good news [equalization of wages] for Mexicans, but very bad news for everyone else.

Like modern-day Mexico, we'll have two classes: The very rich and the very poor.

....and we used to have a lot "open border/free trade at all costs" useful idiots that had a mental disconnect between such policies and the devastation it has brought to families and communities in the form of bankrupted hospitals, criminal activity, declining educational standards, tax evasion by many businesses, and on and on it goes. Thought many of those folks were long gone too.......looks like some of them are back also.
