I do not understand why leakers and reporters/editors/publishers who patronize them should not have to suffer the same punishment given to members of the military who purposefully compromise classified information: fine and imprisonment.
Ain't that the truth ! Seems to me , the NYT had an obligation to report to the (pick one) White House/State Dept/Treasury, et al the name of the leaker and what he/she was peddling.
