How is Biloxi looking?

Still pretty dreadful but not because of inactivity. Demolition and reconstruction are happening everywhere but the enormity of the task means that it will take many more months to get the job done.

The Palace, Imperial Palace, Isle of Capri and Boomtown are open with the Beau Rivage and perhaps a smaller, temporary Grand Casino due to open next month, the latter on the site of the Grand's Bay View hotel. Most former home sites remain empty but for the debris that Katrina scattered about. The Grand Casino hotel (Island View), casino and theater are demolished and the Casino Magic hotel appears to be awaiting major renovation. Considering the destruction that took place, things look pretty good.

All those casinos will provide much needed revenues for the cities to get going again.

My Godchild and her husband were here over the weekend, they're heading in that direction later in the week after a stop in NO for a day or so. Its a business trip for him and she is along for the company. He has been there often in recent months but this will be the first for her since the storms.
