I killed one of the other threads I hang out on.
So it probably was me.

Good night Westy.

Hi Westy,

I'ts been slow today for me, I had work to do fixing up equipment for a youth trip. About 600 kids and adults are going to push 40 hand carts about 30 miles over five days here. Part of that trip involves going over a mountain summit on an extremely primitive road, so we rigged up tackle they could use to pull the carts over the top. Fun for them, I'll just enjoy the pictures after.

I don't know how I avoided ever becoming a cigarette smoker, seeing as how I fall for most vices that tempt me....(we need not go into details) Fortunately this is one battle I've avoided.
Good luck with your warfare strategy, grannie. You are tougher than any old pack of cigs..... and cuter, too.

I'll take one of those Castles Gran, how much?

For you Doggie-dear, definitely below asking price..;) I've given up just about everything but coffee. I refuse to give up any more goodies.

I'm taking lots of deep breaths, Pup...but I think the cough is going to carry me off, if the coffin doesn't do it first.

Oh damn Nully, I keep thinking the cough is getting better, but I think it's wishful thinking. Seems to be as strong, but maybe less frequent? I start two months of jury duty next week. Hopefully the docket will be small because of summer, but if they get a load of this cough maybe I'll be excused.... It's an hours drive and we're still in the moving market, so it's going to be difficult.

I hear ya LJ. I am not using the gum too often and not going by the regimen, just when I feel I need it. I'll be like a Methadone addict..lol. My daughter is laughing at me, because I look so odd chewing gum instead of smoking.

You're right about the low sky, Cardy. I really never noticed, but it's really quite true. Must have something to do with the atmosphere, because we have states that are not the same either. I have one bag packed...but no good deal on prices yet. ;)

I hope I feel better Lib. My BP is really down now...if I can just get rid of this cough I'll feel like a million bucks... Unfortunately nothing will help the looks any...although.....my future son in law was full of compliments last night...maybe I am looking better, or he's just his usual cute self...;) (He's a darling, that one. Lucky daughter....this time...)

Lol...Sharky, you sound like Al's father.. He said he could quit every week if he wanted to. He did finally quit forever tho...and it was a long time before he died. ;)

You're welcome of course, Resty. I have a couple you might like. As soon as the hen stops to......* I'll try to get them ready for posting..

Val...where have you beeaan? Are you still working hard and dating somewhat? We haven't had any news from you in some time. Fill us in woman.. as we need some good gossip for a change. ;) How are all the kids doing? Cute, you say? Ha..only if it means sneaky, out of control, and baaaaaaaaad..... That description I can fill..

It takes a little time for the overworked lungs to clear. Hang in there, Gran. You can do it.

The blood pressure alone should make a big difference in how you feel.

I had to finally break down and go to the doctor today for this awful bug I've had. I have been feeling horrible...and getting worse instead of better. I started getting sick 2 days after I moved here. My luck, one of these beautiful trees out back is triggering my long dormant allergies...and the never failing sinus/ear/lung infections that follow. Anyway, the doctor asked me if I normally had a problem with my blood pressure (this was not my regular doctor). I told him that it normally ran pretty close to perfect 120/80. He told me it was high today (160/88), but that it could be just because I was feeling so bad and was in a lot of pain. I figure it is probably a combination of that and stress...what with moving, starting a new job, making financial adjustments, getting ready for Tyler's visit and residual dingbat effect. Or maybe I just need to have a few blyue thingies.

That is a great photo.

The pics just come to me outside my window. Like this one yesterday, a telephoto shot of the Russian Brigantine "Avos".

Here is a translation of the account by the owner, Valerey Gladkov, who has been traveling with his family around European waters ...

In 1985 the Captain found the AVOS at the bottom of the sea at a depth of 40 meters (130 feet).

In 1989 we started the restoration and when it was finished we took our first trip to Leningrad across the lakes and rivers of Russia.

In 1991 we left Leningrad for a voyage of 15 months around all of Europe returning to St Petersburg. Being the first Russian boat to make this route we were registered in the Guiness Book of Records.

In 1993, once again the brigantine Avos set course with the intention of sailing to Vietnam but the costs were too great so we decided to return to St Petersburg.

Thank you for your interest.

Captain of the brigantine AVOS

Valery Gladkov

Here is the Avos in its early days after the renovation:

You know, I've never had a cig cough, but I was put on those Lisinopril? pills, (ACE inhibiter) and that's when it started, so I think one brought on the other. Either that.. or I have more problems than I think. I'll have to get a chest x-ray if it doesn't let up soon.. I was supposed to let the Doc know last Weds...but he doesn't know that I've stopped smoking. Why bother rushing into anything...if it just might be bad news...:(

HIya Gran.
I am still working fulltime and spending way too much of my left over time playing Texas Hold 'Em. It's a lot of fun and great socialization.
My boss showed up at the sports bar where I play last night and now he's hooked on the game, too. Several people from work are going to try to close the store real fast tonight and make the 9 pm game. It's crazy.
I'm not dating much, just hanging out with friends.
The boys are well. Only the youngest is home with me now. Gabe is 16. The oldest will be going to Iraq next month if his schedule hasn't changed.

Keep an eye on it... Mine used to be just a tad higher than that, but now it's running around 110/62. I'm back to where I was when I was young.

Of course everything else is gone to hell.

Have a few Blue Thingies for me.. we both need them...lol.

There you are, Val. I love Texas Hold-em. Do you play for money or just the glory?

Wow..Gabe is getting to be an old man...lol, and the oldest is on his way to Iraq? Wasn't he in Germany last I knew?

I hope he's watched over while there, and he stays safe for you and the family.

I know what you mean. Hopefully your body is just readjusting to the shock of clean air.
