Interesting article.

I think most people who are knowledgeable and don't choose Macs do so for compatibility reasons or for price reasons. The really bad thing is not so much the price of the computer, but that they'd have to repurchase copies of software, like Photoshop, that they own and paid a great deal for. It used to be that Adobe crossgraded the software for the cost of an upgrade (my first Photoshop was Windows photoshop), but I don't think that's true anymore.

They'll still admit the user experience is superior.

I never found it to be so.

I think the most off putting thing about Apples is the Cult of Steve, peace be upon him.

You have a computer, it is a tool.Using it does not make you one of the favored of the Most High and you don't get a free drink at every bar. You do not need to spend five hours trying to convert me to the OS Way.

Granted that the Cult of Steve is very small even among the small percentage of Mac user but they are vocal and very annoying.

People who might have tried or bought a Mac will not do it because the perception has been made that Mac owners are annoying jerks.
