It's a correspondence chess server. You log in, make a move, and it sends an email to your opponent saying you've moved (and vice versa, of course).

I've played a couple of games there now. Kind of makes the work day move along...

Chess? Ugh. My grandfather taught me how to play; a couple of years later I started being pushed toward competition. Took all the fun out of it and I've dabbled briefly only twice in the decades since.

The last time (15 years ago) my friend could tell I'd played before: the first game I lost in a fool's mate (ouch!), but each successive game I improved markedly.

Right now the fill-in entertainment is the Sudoku game on the cellphone.

I haven't played chess since I beat the late Igor three times in a row. But I'll check out the link. My two grandsons are excellent at it.
