Do you guys run a router, or is the pee-cee directly connected to the 'net?
I have a router for DSL--if the computer doesn't connect to the DSL right away,
What version OS are you running on the Mac?
No router, the feed comes right off the pole, into the house, hits the modem then goes CAT5 right to my NIC.
As for the Mac, I haven't even fired it up, yet -- just got it last night.
I'll get with my on-site IT guru/hacker -- he's "got the ways and the means" if you get my drift.
