Yes, Ireland is a long way north! Sun rises around 5:00 (it was a bit cloudy this morning, so I'm not too sure), and it never gets full dark this time of year - it starts getting bright around 3:00!!

I remembered that from Germany. We had rolling metal shutters on the house that kept it dark inside.
redhead has "twilight" for four hours between sunset and sunrise. In the winter, you must not have much daylight...

In New Orleans, where I grew up, sunset is at about 8:05 right now...At midwinter, sunset is at 5:05...about a 3 hour difference....
