WASHINGTON, May 31 — After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

Things are pretty quite now. Yesterday was a heck of a thunder and lightning storm, very little rain.
Looks like we are in for more of the same today.Temps are warming up a tad. Has been a very different July for weather here, very cool with even cooler nights.
I can't exactly whip my weight in wild cats, but I'm feeling a little better now. .
We're at the end of the monsoons, "they" say, so we should be nce and dry by the end of the week. When it's 115 and 5%, I love it. I'm like a lizard on a rock.
It has to be at least 100 for my blood to start moving. I usually always wear a jacket or sweater indoors. I must be the only person in Las Vegas to put on a jacket to go INdoors! LOL!
