yahyahyahyah... I got plenty of pictures of tsubas in a book called Arms and Armour of the Samurai.
let's not forget the situation here: I'm trying to duplicate the weight and exact balance of a dangerously dangerous blade, and I have HAND TOOLS to work with, and no reason at all to go ornate.

Brass should be easy to manipulate, and you can remove bits of it easily to tune weight.

I was looking at the Bokken shaping up.
Wasn't paying attention to the tsuba.
But now that you mention it, that image does look vaguely familiar.

Aw, shucks, NNB. I wouldn't worry about coming into a truckload of money, if I were you. I've learned that money doesn't change people; it simply enables tham to maximize everything that they already are. You got good stuff inside. More money means more of that good stuff can be moved from the land of the mind to the land of actuality.

I figured that, it just sounded strange to an Irishman - it's often a worry that it's too wet to hold a bonfire!!
I had fun, a couple of young bucks at the bonfire - they were throwing in newspapers too quickly, so at the end of the night, there was still unburned paper buried in the heart of the fire!!
There were also moths undertaking suicide missions into the fire...

Vernier calipers - there was an exam question in school, asking why the Vernier calipers were so called - one guy answered; "because they are very near."!!
