I think you are correct here. The "3 possible sources" came from her statement to the SANE nurse -- the "boyfriend" and the two "drivers". This is disgusting...she had unprotected sex with three different men in less than 5 days? Yikes!

Given Nifong's confidence that the DNA testing would show who was guilty and the timing of testing the "boyfriend" I doubt it. I suspect the 3 possible sources came from her admissions to the police when the DNA did not match any lacrosse players and was well after she talked to the SANE.

No, I think what happened is that Nifong was surprised there was not a match with any lax players and that it was someone else's semen in her. He, or the cops or investigators, then asked her whose it could be and she gave them three names - her BF and the two drivers. They all gave samples and a match was made.
