". As a result of the media maligning the character of the rape victim, New Black Panther Party (NBPP) National Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz rallied his organization, local leaders and residents to take a stand against the injustice surrounding this heated case, and organized a press conference, demonstration and town hall meeting on May 1. As an attorney, he held concerns about the effective prosecution of the case and announced his decision to conduct a private investigation.
The history of Duke University is rooted in racism. Racism existed long before we (NBPP) got here. The two defendants must be brought to justice and we will accept nothing else! demanded Atty. Shabazz during the press conference held at the Duke campus entrance on Chapel Drive. We are here to say to our Sister, you need not fear testifying. You have strong support and backing."
"Adding to this fervor, a few days before the demonstration, Duke University President Richard Brodhead sent out an email warning students, staff and faculty of the arrival of the group he and others deemed an extremist group who carry guns that will not be allowed to disrupt the campus. Despite such attempts by him and the media to drum up fear and tension with this image, residents showered the NBPP with love and support for standing up with courage.
In his press statement, Atty. Shabazz presented eight demands formulated by members of the Black community of Durham, which included that the defendants in the rape case, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann, be tried and convicted, an immediate end to all attacks on the victim, an end to irresponsible media reporting, and that the crime scene on Buchanan St. be converted into a Rape Crisis Center."
"We are outraged by the rape of our Sister, Min. David stressed. They dont expect Black men to stand up for their women, but we are here."
"Victoria Peterson presented statistics that show over 80 rape cases that have occurred in that part of town, with five of them taking place on the campus of Duke. You talk about the Panthers being dangerous, but this university is a danger to the people of Durham, she contended.
We must put a stop to all rapes and sexual assaults on all women. We are tired of this and want it to end now, pled Sasha of NCCU."
"The day of the demonstration marked the first day of final exams for the studentsthe reason given by Duke Police Chief Robert Dean and Aaron Graves, vice president for campus safety and security, for preventing the demonstrators from entering the campus to march. University officials said previously they wanted to allow students to study for exams without disruption.
Unshaken by the opposition, the residents chanted, Black power! and Shame on Duke along with the Panthers as they marched two miles to the house on Buchanan. With a police escort, the line of marchers swelled as onlookers fell into step with what has been called the largest march ever held in that area."
I'm sure you're right, but we never seem to hear from them. They are as cowed by the big-mouthed race-baiting blacks as a lot of whites are. These are the ordinary black Americans who get up, go to work, obey the law, take care of their families and their property just like ordinary white Americans. Why don't they speak out through their churches and civil leaders against the presence of the NBPP in Durham regarding this case and the playing of the race card by the NCCU contingent of loudmouths?
What's noticeable about the NBPP headline is that it tries to inculpate all black Durhamites as supporters of their BS. I seriously doubt that's the case, but it would be nice if some of them would speak up and tell Malik not to include them in their sweeping "Black Community" phrase.
Why isn't somebody, white or black, doing a review of criminal statistics in Durham to point out how many whites girls are raped by black men? Just to contribute to the "dialogue", of course.
Actually, the word you may be looking for is "lynching".
If there's any fairness in the judiciary hearing the case, there will be, unless there's something in NC law that locks them in, which wouldn't surprise me. NC's lack of adherence to defendants' consitutional rights is breathtaking.
You right on! I tread on someones toes. I did not know
if fact, I had to look twice when I saw the message from him (the other Kimble)
He has paid his dues, so I moved on.
thank you
Has anyone discovered the name of the "boyfriend" , aka sperm source?
Somehow outing him as a known pimp has to high on the defense agenda, but so far I have not seen a name.
Not something I could have endured for 30 minutes especially since it was obviously filled with as many untruths as her one sound clip in the article. I'd a never turned that show on again. Irresponsible programming.
LOL! Nice username.
He did not come from filthy fich, he got that by chasing pediatricians where deliveries went wrong. Putting doctors out of business and chasing baby ambulances.
Nice guy, A real piece of work.
I have a question:
Nifong said he expects no further charges.
Where does that leave Ryan Mcfayden (e-mail writer)?
Is Nifong saying McFayden will not be charged? Of course, he was thrown out of school by Duke.
If the sane blacks did that, they would be accused of being "Uncle Toms"--not really black.
I know that, but can't they just deal with that by fighting back for both the principle of truth and the principle of standing on their own without having to conform to what some radical thinks acting "black" requires?
So far, it seems the answer is no, and they remain silent. They must think it's not their problem, but it actually is.
Well, surprise, surprise, the race card played twice in the first two sentences. More hate whitey speech from the single digit IQ crowd. Bulletin to Black America, as long as these are your leaders, we aren't listening. Let me know when Condi, Bill Cosby, A. Keyes ... have something to say. They are the people to lead you from the slavery mindset to freedom certainly not the dumbocraps or the black panthers etc..
That was so silly and here's one example of why I said "silly."
Another poster has my name, but with a double x and I have never complained.
Anyway, GOOD to know you're still here with us!
No. It's exactly the same as the O.J. trial: Racist Justice.
The party in the trial that is of their own race will be championed regardless of the facts.
In the South of the early 20th Century, this was the norm. In the 21st Century, the white racists have lost their power but black racists have stepped in to keep the tradition of racist justice alive and well.
Jez, you're good!
"if fact, I had to look twice when I saw the message from him (the other Kimble)"
He didn't even spell it as "Kimble," like you did. I believe it was "Kimball." I thought it was strange that he asked you to change your name.
His name was obtained from some locals on another forum who, apparently, know him and know he's from Hillsborough. They weren't guessing. They were certain who he was, that he had a rap sheet, and that he was connected to Bunnyhole.

"After her past criminal acts and mental history were known, why would activist pick this hill to fight off of?
"
Conclusive DNA evidence didn't stop any of them from thinking OJ was innocent. If whitey is accused of doing something to a "sister", he must be guilty. If a black guy is accused of doing something to a "whitey" he must be innocent. Or at the very least white racism was the whole reason he did the deed in the first place.
