Pretty anxious to read the book and then see the movie... I tried to read it, but the writing is at the third-grade level.
The fact that it is so popular is because so many people who read it were functionally illiterate and reading a novel for the first time in their lives.
Naturally they would think it was great.

I tried to read it, but the writing is at the third-grade level. As I said on another thread, I got to about page thirty and gave up. It was like reading the transcript of a pretentious episode of Scooby Doo.

Haha! Nice try, but a couple of teachers and doctors i know enjoyed the book... The reason why it was so popular is because of the complexity of it's plot, and the subtleties of it's puzzle...
You are right though, The davinci code was the first book for a lot of people, but that doesn't mean they are total dumb a*s.
Best regards.
