What A Shame About Jay, (Leno)
Stardate: 0605.16

Posted on 05/15/2006 9:18:46 PM PDT by The Wizard

I turn on Jay at night to go to bed with a laugh before heading off to whatever is next......

I love the headlines bit and he really makes me laugh......but tonight's continued tirade on GWB made me turn him off..... I could not stand another crack from some "entertainer" about how the President of our country, the most important man on earth in many ways, (because he effects so many lives) and we constanly have to listen to people who haven't accomplished a thimbal full tell him and us what they think...and it's unceasing.......and worse: it's getting BORING......

Grow up Jay, or you're going to lose the people that still do watch you.....don't be fooled by polls......you're in TV, you know how numbers can be made to lie.......

"Grow up Jay, or you're going to lose the people that still do watch you." Not as fast as Bush is loosing those watching him.

You're absolutely right. And the Bush bashers right here on this thread ought to just take a hike.

I agree, we should expect it from Hollywood - I'm blown away by the lack of respect here.

At least Jay doesn't make fun of Cheney's heart condition anymore. .....not because he now realizes how classless it is, but because Cheney delivered him new material on a platter (shotgun jokes).

The most damning statistic is the one which identifies about a third of voting Americans as getting most of their news from the late nite comedians.

I still can't believe what Stephen Colbert said to the president's face. That has to be a first in U.S. history.

And he called the president's supporters "backwash" whatever that is.

Unbelievable.

Understandable, so we shouldn't expect you to offer Leno amnesty? :)

If Leno was criticizing Bush on immigration, he deserves it. Bush is a national embarrassment; certainly NOT a conservative. But he's got his groupies doesn't he? :)

I don't like it when so-called comedians do it or when so-called Freepers do it.

I especially didn't care for the joke about WEST WING being finished but that we still a show that better identified with our current administration.

My Name Is Earl.

You mean when he "made fun of Clinton by making him look like a ladies man" oh...

Last time I checked this was a conservative forum NOT a republican forum. As long as Bush does conservative things I support him. If he violates almost every conservative principle on the planet, I don't...and I don't.

Leno bashed Clinton so naturally he bashes Bush now.

But I bet he wished it was 10 years ago. It's a lot easier to come up with jokes on Slick Willy than on Dubya.

It is entirely okay to make fun of the President. There are quite a few jokes about the President, including cartoons of him that I find funny.

Not all of them portray him accurately as a smart, and discerning man, but that doesn't make some of them less funny.

The difference between humor and propaganda however does draw the line in the sand for me. When the line is crossed, I turn the TV off or turn the page. Lampooning the President is fine, but using a comic's stage to push an obvious opposition fabrication or version of the truth is something different entirely.
