Maybe they should indict her boyfriend, since his seamen seems to be the only seamen they found in her.

Why have a trial, just put out both sides in the newspapers?

If I were the families of the players indicted, I'd hit the dancer with a civil action after the trial was over. After the tens of thousands of dollars in court and attorney's fees the families have had to pony up, she needs to pay for her lying. She probably doesn't have anything for them to get, but at least if they get the judgment they can set it up so that they get anything she may have in the future, and it also publicly puts on record that she's a liar and a crook, which is worth something in of itself.

The only news is that this is another terribly screwed up case. The prosecuters need to move to Aruba where they don't indict ANYBODY!

The DA is intent on ruining these boys all for own political gain. I suspect he'll get the indictment.

This might be a good reason why we should have a loser-pays system in criminal law. If a prosecutor invents some BS like this and brings frivolous charges and loses, he can pay the defendant's attorney's fees out of his paycheck.

There is one fact that convinces me that this alleged victim's story is a complete fabrication- even more than the lack of DNA evidence and the corroboarative cab driver and phone logs - that is the testimony, or lack thereof, of the other dancer at the party. She initially came out saying that she didn't think there was a rape involved and later said that there could have been, because she wasn't with the victim the entire time. Well.... she drove the alleged victim from the party and you mean to tell me that this woman, who was supposedly gang raped by three men, didn't say anything about it to her!? The driver didn't like the white boys, so she makes an anonymous call claiming racial slurs. The call is ANONYMOUS and only mentions RACIAL SLURS??!! You mean to tell me that she had no clue that her dancing partner had been brutally gang raped? That this poor victim said nothing about it to her stripping "sistah"?... and the capper is that the rape story only comes up AFTER the alleged victim is confronted by police in a grocery store parking lot in an inebriated state and we learn that she has a history of alleging gang rapes.

This is BULL***T of the highest magnitude. This is Tawana Brawley times THREE!

Which is the worst out-of-control prosecutor persecutor*?

(a) Lawrence Walsh
(b) Patrick Fitzgerald
(c) Ronnie Earle
(d) Michael Nifong

*Though DemocRats in the '90s screamed "out-of-control" at Ken Starr, they purposely forgot that Starr was investigating ONLY those issues that JANET RENO assigned him. Monica Lewinsky included.

According to a Fox News reporter on scene (SIlber), the prospective indictee, assuming he is indicted, is prepared not only to turn himself in, but also to go before the media this afternoon.

Megyn Kendall has apparently just told the Fox anchor that "an indictment has been handed up, as expected."

As per a defense lawyer with whom she has contact.

I know that Nifong won the Democratic primary a couple of weeks ago, winning with 45% of the vote. Freda Black came in second with 42% of the vote. I know at the present time, there is no opposition on the Republican side running against Nifong. So unless the Republicans put up a candidate to run against Nifong, then he has will almost definitely will be reelected as Durham County DA.
I read where another candidate can run against Nifong and have their name included on the ballot, if they file by the end on June, as a Republican?

I would like to suggest that the Republicans get together and recruit Freda Black to run again against Nifong. Black pulled in a very good percentage of the Democrats in the primary. If Black would choose to run as a Republican, and she kept a good percentage of those who supported her in the primary, and in addition, she were to capture a sizable majority of the Republican voters, then maybe we would see Nifong defeated at the polls in November.

I would also think she would receive a lot of campaign contributions for her campaign from the many people who are disgusted with the way this DA has handled this case.

If not Freda, then please, I call on the Durham County Republicans to put up another candidate?

Somebody provided this link..

When talking about the cabbie, this lawyer says

Naturalized citizens and resident aliens are particularly vulnerable to threats of prosecution. Conviction, even for a minor offense is grounds for loss of citizenship and deportation. Thus, the police have even more leverage to use on Mr. Elmostafa.

I had always figured that he could be in trouble if he were here illegally, but even if he's legal he could still be in trouble.
