"Taking the Long Way", the new Dixie Chicks album is being released May 23. They'll start the morning show route next week and will be performing on Good Morning America. 60 Minutes is scheduled to run a story on them as well. Get ready for another few weeks of Natalie putting herself back up on the cross.
who??
"Get ready for another few weeks of Natalie putting herself back up on the cross."
Is she the porky one? Somebody better reinforce her cross.
My wife HAD every Dixie Chicks CD, and loved their music, After Manes rant against Dubya, she threw them all away and swore to never buy or listen to them again...we even saw them once when they forst started out, and now I want to see if I can get our money back....:)))
"You have a right to reject her beliefs and not to buy her stuff. But to punish her further is not in the spirit of America."
How exactly is she being punished further?
This Dixie Chicks thing infuriates me. First off, this girl says something overseas. These people want freedom without consequences. They weren't thrown into jail, hauled off in the dead of night. The market spoke. NOW, they come back. You'd think they'd just move on. But NOOOO...they play the VICTIMS in this whole scenario. I was listening to the Country channel on my Sirius radio yesterday and I almost threw up. They had phone calls from people who had been mad at the Dixie Chicks, but now agree with them. I used to like the Dixie Chicks, and if they had just let the whole thing go, I may have started listening to them again. But now, they're actually USING the controversy for their comeback. I think it's despicable. By the way, how is their new CD doing?
Regards, Ivan
I hate to admit it, but I really like their rendition of Stevie Nicks' "Landslide".
Other than that, they can pound sand up their...
well at least she's still popular in her hometown!!! ha
Shut up and sing ping!
Keep it pithy. Do not be a popinjay.
Dixie Chicks...? Is that, like, the new spicy samich at Wendy's or sumthin'?
Like the opinion of these three lesbian hens means anything. They are just cashing in their pity chips.
Tired old liberals use the "right-winger death threat" thing to get on the news in an attempt to get news coverage and revive their sagging carreers.
I saw a haggard Susan Surandon (? the old lady that was in Bull Durham) to that other try to claim it the other day.
Like anyone cares enough to kill her, she's such a nobody
Our local country station had a phone-in and website survey asking if the station should continue to boycott the Dixie Twits music. By an overwhelming majority, (6 to 1) the vote was to continue the boycott. Nuff said!
Why is OReily trying to rehabilitate the left?
He is revocal against the Federal Marriage Amendemtn with what-her-name chenny's "how i like to have sex" book,
He is pandering to the democrats,
All I have to do is see the promo for his show to know that 8 pm is a tv free hour.
The Dixie Sluts need some money so they've churned out a new CD based on their standard formula. Yawn. The boycott continues. Dont buy the CD. Dont download it from iTunes. Hit 'em where it hurts - the bank account.
The Dixie Chicks are to music as a pair of size 20 panties with holes in them is to a clothesline.
"Natalie Maines has paid the price for her remarks. Her life has been threatened and she remains under siege. That is wrong as well. The woman has a right to believe what she wants to believe. You have a right to reject her beliefs and not to buy her stuff. But to punish her further is not in the spirit of America"
Looks like O'Reilly is really buying into this victim status card Maines and the Chicks have been trying to play. I remember them whining about how no one in country music came to defend them and then BTW they were switching genres because no one in country music had any talent anyway.
So what are we all supposed to do now and how have we been punishing her if it's by not buying her CD? And since when did Bill become a music critic?
