I may need a scooter if Taylor doesn't win this thing LOL Me too except they will have to put me on life support. LOLLLL

"McStab-my-own-eardrums-with-a-sharp-object" LMAO!!
I've been tough on her all season, but she's really good when she doesn't try to hit those Whitney-ish high notes or the Aretha-ish low notes. But she likes those big, big notes.
Reminds me of "A League of Their Own" how Dottie was always telling Kit to lay off the high pitches.
Hmmmm...Kit...Kat...Kitkat? Must be getting close to lunch.

I've got an adorable sexy man! But, still Chris is fun to look at! His personality and character make him even funner to look at! I think a lot of us gals get just a wee bit hormonal in the process. Of course, my husband gets hormonal over Katharine. Then we have to find something to do with all those hormones! Hmmm.......Nevermind!

The "magic mirror". I used to wonder how she DID that. Especially when she called my name. LOL. Things sure have changed! :)

(Taylor--he sings, writes his own songs, plays instruments, has charisma, and he's the whole package.)

Hubby and I watched the show over again last night. Kat did an excellent job on Over the Rainbow up until the part at the end where she started to over sing it. She does that a lot.
We decided though, that with more practice and training, she will learn to control it.
Her biggest problem is connecting with the audience and FEELING the music, not just belting it out. If she can master that, which she has done on a couple occassions, she'll be much better.
To: conservativebabe
Yeah, I agree with that, especially connecting with the audience. She's not feeling the songs. Her performances are hollow. It's weird because of her background in muscial theater you would think she would at least be able to fake it better.

That is what I (we) love about Taylor. He feels the music like few people do. Almost to the point of being overcome by it. THAT is what makes him such a joy to watch.
I know some have gotten annoyed with his "Soul Patrol" stuff, but honestly, he understands exactly who is audience is, who he is, and how to put it all together.

When you rewatch Katherine's performance of Over the Rainbow, you will see something very curious. Half-way through the performance she is seen removing a secret earphone, that was giving her some trouble. It appears that she was being fed the lyrics to Over the Rainbow (they are admittedly hard to memorize) over the earphone.
Did anyone else notice this? and isn't it considered outright cheating to be fed the lyrics in this way?

(The men this year were just far above most of the women, not just in singing but in character as well.)
I agree, and not just these last three guys. As much as Ace's stage presence annoyed me, the stuff I read about him indicated he was a really nice guy. I thought Bucky was absolutely adorable!

They all have earpieces in all the time. Taylors fell out during Elvis week. It's not to feed them the lyrics, I think it's to hear the band properly, but I'm not 100% certain. Wolfstar, do you know?

Agreed. Her final number was a blues song about being broken-hearted and down to her last dime. She had a big silly grin on during the entire performance. A blues singer she is not! Horrible.

It's an in ear monitor that allows singers to hear themselves over the band. Watch any band on stage, they all wear them. The interesting thing to me is that I've seen several of them take them out. Taylor did it during Jailhouse Rock. They consistently have problem with the IEM's. For a music show, you would think they could get that right.

I said the same such yesterday. The name of the song was, "I Ain't Got Nothin' But The BLues" and she smiled that theater smile the whole time. No emotional connection with any song she's ever done.

I think she just means bigger bodied as opposed to the Terri Hatcher's of Hollywood. There's nothing wrong with her shape at all. We should all be so "fat". ;-) Or Lara Flynn Boyle.

I'll take McPhee everyday and twice on Sundays.
