With a little rearranging - not much, it could definitely be a country song. It already had a country rock feel to it.

I too would love to be able see Simon eat his daily dish of crow. We could make up some Crow recipes and send them to Simon. Mmmmmmmm, yummy with a side dish of Turnip Greens. ;-)

Since you are the one who has heard him on the radio, and none of the rest of us has, i think your comments on this are likely the most valid. I have a feeling that AI has written into the contracts that the Idols are not allowed to be political for x amount of years, which is just fine with me

Oh my...Taylor's going to be a "crossover" hit. Take THAT Simon!!
LOL - Taylor is already big, and his star will rise. I am convinced of that. He has the uniqueness, personality, talent and drive to make it so. His fan base is buying his stuff not just because they like it, but they WANT him to succeed!

There is a company in Iraq that has been posting on the main Taylor Hicks board Sgt. Moss is the leader, anyway the international fans got together and came up with a logo and made a tee shirt to give to Taylor. They call themselves the Global Soul Patrol, anyway the front of the tee shirt has Sam Cooke because that is who Taylor sang for his auditions where most people got hooked. The back has a listing of all of the countries, and the names of the soldiers serving. When Taylor was given this shirt and told about the soldiers who were his fans he was visibly touched and overwhelmed, in a good way. I'm looking for the post where the shirt was given to him but it may take forever since there's nearly 1,000,000 to go through. The shirt was given to him between the rehearsal and performance on May 9.

He may or may not like Bill Clinton but he's also not stupid enough to alienate 50% of the population. If he says he hates Clinton, then his liberal fans ditch him, if he says he loves him then his conservative fans ditch him. He was on 48 hours of no sleep when the question was asked. He answered in a way that was couched very carefully. He does have a right to his opinion, as long as it's not shoved down anyone's throat. His music that he writes is not political so until he says differently I'm a fan.

I totally agree. I will buy Taylor and Elliott's(if he makes one) cd's not only be cause I like them, but to help them succeed.
As an aside, I'm wondering if Taylor will make a guest appearance on SNL tonight??
To: CajunConservative
I have yet to hear Taylor say anything negative about anyone (except for the jabs at Simon, which are encouraged). He is ever gracious towards those he is asked about. He is smart and I think real enough to know it is better to stay positive, because that is what attracts people to you.

Good question - I almost forgot about the parodies. I'd be surprised if the imitator doesn't do a spiel about him. You know, they should do a parody of the Clay Aiken thing, have fake Taylor start singing and then real Taylor come up beside him!
To: andyssister
I was just wondering the same thing. It would be so cute if someone was doing a parody of him and then he walked out.
Or "We don't need more cowbell. We need more harp".

Great minds... I think we're on to something.
To: over3Owithabrain
He's always been gracious and polite. He's also very sarcastic so I would love to hear how he said what he said. He's said some things like his favorite band was Il Divo, while he rolled his eyes. That was a direct jab at Simon, because Simon created that horrid sounding group.
As far as the rumors, I doubt they are totally accurate too, the moles are from The Advocate.
To: CajunConservative
The rumor that he is not close to his parents is crap, at least as far as his poppa is concerned. The love between the two was evident throughout the competition, from the beginning when Taylor gave him props before Levon, to the end when Taylor stopped by to touch his shoulder during one of the finale songs. Maybe the gay mole was a stranger to fatherly love...

Yeah, what you said! And, add touching little boys or girls. Can't go for that.

Well, here we go with a Brit Hume opening. Does the SNL target demo even know who Brit is??
