Esther and Solomon -- works of literature/scripture not recommended for the prudish/self-righteous at heart. On the other hand, nothing beats Judges 19 for gratuitous violence, rape, homosexuality, and snuff-porn. In fact, Judges 19:28-29 still makes me want to vomit and is the first thing that popped into my head when I read this thread.

One of the women I admire a great deal has the dance name of "Vashti"

Anyhow, we get a great giggle of our names, the meanings and how the wimmen folk were probably rolling their eyes at the menfolk a whole lot in those days.

Believe it or not, most dancers avoid using the name (I honestly can't think of one I've ever met who's used it)....
