SHARPTON CALLS FOR JUSTICE, WEEK OF APRIL 20-26, 2006

He added that it would be a greater injustice to her if the community did not stand up not only to defend her, but help her during these dark days.

“Even if she was just a dancer and a stripper, she was doing a legal service, though one may question it from their own personal view,” Sharpton said Sunday by phone from Atlanta, regarding how the national media has negatively portrayed her. “We do not see this done when the shoe is the other way around.”

“This whole media destruction of this girl’s character is something that cannot, and should not be tolerated.

We’ve seen this before in cases all over this country,” Sharpton said, later adding, “This is characteristically done by the white media.”

“This in itself is racist.”
