2. Why the hell wasn't Jack smart enough to play the recording for Cloe to record at CTU while he was driving around L.A.? Plot hole. Pure and simple.
No, not a plot hole at all. Within the context of 24-rules, the original digital recording was required for authentication (you will note references to digital signatures). Simply playing the recording over a phone connection would have been useless from an authentication perspective in the 24-universe.

Duh. true. Can't you tell i'm slow?
I see S6 opening with Bluetooth making a deal with the Chinese for Jack somewhere closer to the US or in the US (time has passed obviously...face it, China is not time appropriate, a nuclear incident in China would keep him apart from here and who could possibly go save Jack). Jack's saved and is found out to be a Manchrian Candidate (too hard I know... who could stop him, a clone from NK maybe). s/

Jack being dragged off to China. Yeah. Didn't really like that ending. But it's better than the other one where the entire day was only a hallucination Jack was having while being tortured by the Chinese. That would have made a lot of people mad. Dallas & St. Elsewhere were enough of that.
This season just wasn't as good as the others for me. Too many characters killed off at one time. And things that were just odd. And WHERE was Wayne Palmer when his brother's body is being flown out? The whole season just seemed off. But maybe they'll do better next season since it looks like it will be an extension of this one.

The thing with 24 is that so much happens, you can watch every season multiple times. Plus, once you watch a season, it's really hard to remember what happened during others.
