The reason I suspect a Kimnapping is because they signed up Elisha Cuthbert for 4 episodes but we've only seen her in two.
I'd love to see Kim off the show for good but it isn't going to happen. TPTB have said they're trying to keep the good guy death count down after taking a lot of heat over 5.1 and 5.12/5.13.

He knocked the pilot out just as he unlocked the door and Jack got in before he could relock it.
As a side note for those who don't know, the pilot was played by Jean Smart's (Martha) real life husband.
