How can the wiseman and Logan be sure Jack hasn't sent it through to Chloe or to Karen or Curtis, etc.

Yeah, the darkness sucks. Some really great scenes (I can think of one in Season 2 and Season 3) are hard to see and screencap because they're so dark.
Can you adjust your brightness?
I think the darkness and whispering is meant to draw us in...it makes me lean closer to the TV.
Maybe darkness and whispering is intentional.
But, man-oh-man, I hate the blast of noise when the commercials come on! I'm constantly "correcting" the volume between the show and the commercials.
Other shows do this, too, so yes, I suspect a conspiracy by Madison Avenue!

It doesn't bother me so much on the TV. It is the DVD that the darkness gets to me. I do turn up the player's brightness as much as possible but a lot of the CTU scenes, especially Season 2 are very dark.
If I brighten the picture in Photoshop, it tends to become very grainy which ruins the quality.
