Heard Teddy Kennedy talking about Lincoln bringing and holding the country together during the Civil War...What utter nonsense!
As soon as the man was elected, half the country started seceding, and Lincoln had a devil of a time holding the other half together thruout the Civil War that followed hie election.
Impossible to take Kennedy seriously!
Roll out the Friday videos, Raven. It's time to party!
Top 5? Woo-hoo! It's Friday, finally!

My shoulder is fine at times and other times it's not. Certain positions seem to make it scream. I'll live with it. Thanks for asking, Molly.
This looks like a cute book..
Poor misunderstood Miss Spider! Although the insects believe her looks will kill, her motives are quite pure. She just wants to invite them to a neighborhood tea party. A Spider weaves silken chairs and brews tea from "hips of roses," even though her repeated invitations are met with comments like "We would be fools to take our tea / With anyone so spidery."
I told the Chairman I couldn't start the thread tonite because of that, but tonite is another long rehearsal...still can't start the thread...
Who is?
How are you always?
Good morning.
I just re-read the Kennedy statement and am almost speechless. He really thinks Lincoln brought the country TOGETHER during the Civil War? OMG. This silly, stupid man thinks that Lincoln united the country when he risked the end of these "united" states during the CIVIL war? Maybe he got more people to cheat for him than on his Spanish tests. These people are utterly pathetic.
That book is a good one, yes!
I believe Dolly is doing the weekend thread.
Good morning back at you, lysie, and here's praying that you will find ease of movement in your shoulder.
Molly, despite the fact that it has been a tough week, I am "okay". Thanks for asking.

Good morning.
I wouldn't say "he risked the end of...", always...
His goal was to keep the country united in order to bring about the end of slavery.
Unfortunately, his election was seen as a provocation by the South, and the individual states called for a Secession Convention, and the whole thing took off...
Then, during the War, the North itself was not united, and the 1864 election was a close, very close thing..
So Kennedy's statement is as wrong as it could possibly be...
I write this as someone who had ancestors attending that Secession Convention, and fighting on the confederate side, AND Abolitionist Quakers and others working to maintain the Union and end slavery.
WOOHOO!!
