The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

I don't believe this prosecutor. Some guy from Tampa. Joe Builford (?).
Says that Nifon is a "cool cucumber"... that the clocks could have been off by a couple of minutes ... that Nifong may have more DNA results that he hasn't released???
Unbelievable
_______________
What are you watching/listening to now?
Strange to be painting fingernails at such an 'event.' I know people can get high sniffing paint. What about fingernail polish?
ROFL!
I figure if Reade can rape and make cell phone calls at the same time....well, anything is possible!
On the other hand, maybe she just went in the bathroom to rest her feet after trying to dance in those shoes.
Well said!

Sure he has dna, that's why he sent cops looking for a big white high heal last night.
I do hope that the hospital gave Crystal a toxicology test. If she could drive a taxi at high speed over 2 counties w/a blood alcohol of .19, that stripper must have had a load the night she passed out.
Jesse noting that princess is scared to death of threats, in hiding, moving from place to place. Knew THAT was coming. I'm sure within the next 24 hr news cycle they will actually "find" some threats. When 'ya got nothin' else change the subject.
If you don't like my posts, don't read them. No one said you had to.
For all we know now, your scenario is exactly right. It's mindboggling.
You are mucking up this thread.
It's not about YOU or YOUR MORALS.
and I also believe that they came up with the rape story together in retaliation.
...I'll take it a step further....this unaccounted time between 1 and 1:22...they saw their pimp/boyfriend and he was mad that they didn't have any money(didn't they threaten those boys with him?).....that is when they concoct the rape for fear of the pimp/boyfriend...and head to Krogers...once again, my imagination at work...
This explains the mystery gap from 12:53 to 1:22, doesn't it??? One of the women went back, possibly both if Mangum was passed out in the car, and this could have been when the scheme was concocted? Or perhaps the ladies met up with the pimp, who told them to go back and get the money.
Wasn't it reported that she entered the hospital barefooted? So where is THAT shoe? Quick, get Nifong on the phone for another search.
Exactly! Why was Kim hanging around outside? She was done for the evening.
Yes. I believe they were wanting their money. There is no reason whatsoever those girls would not have fled the scene immediately had one of them been attacked. There was no fear or anxiety in Kim's voice when she made the first 911 call. There was no fear or anxiety in her voice in the background when the Kroger guard made the second call. As was said earlier, these girls were not afraid of these young men.
