The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

You're right. All mail went either to "Duke Station" in the Bryan Center or to "College Station" on East Campus. You kept your mailing address and mail box the whole time you were there. Even off campus people kept it. You couldn't change your mailing address everytime you moved rooms--that would have been tough. Even after moving to west, I kept the college station address. Also, except for the burgers, isn't this house on top of East. What happened to people taking the bus from east to west?
you'd think with the electronics training she had in the Navy, she would be able to have found a decent job--however, if she was booted out, then perhaps not.
"But you were an adult and the others there were adults, right? No underage drinking, I would assume."
My kids were there and they were both college students... My wife would have no idea how to hire a stripper.
On the other hand, if you had ask me at the time, I would have swore that neither of my two would consume alcohol at college either. Didn't hear those stories until they had been out of college for 10 years.
That said, I'm proud of my two: Both company vice presidents and doing well.

"I wanna know what Kim was supposedly doing those 20 mins Crystal was in the bathroom 'getting raped'.....knitting a sweater.....tuning her car up....what?????"
Trying on her "Shoe"
Knowing the stripper was on the floor, I was thinking elbow. You could be right though. It could very well be a table, lol.
Trying on Crystal's shoe I guess.....ugh! LOL!
In your improbable scenario, where was Kim?
Fox News is supposed to be having a panel discussion on the case "coming up."
There were more details about the cabbie returning to the house and witnessing the verbal altercation between the boys and one of the strippers. Now if Crystal had really been raped and Kim had really been alarmed at how Crystal was a "different woman" -- 180 -- from the start of the event, wouldn't they have fled? Would they have bothered to exchange insults? I mean, if you feel threatened, you not gonna hang around to engage in a verbal altercation.
They had no fear of those boys.
I don't think Crystal and Kim were ever separated during the night. Not long enough for one to be raped. One of Kim's initial statements to some source was she didn't believe it happened. I am sorry, I can't tell you where I read that other than inone of the links from an earlier thread.

So they're immoral sinners and the wages of sin is to be sent to the big house on a false charge cooked up by a prostitute and prosecuted by an ambitious DA? BTW, Jesus associated with prostitutes. As I recall it his reputation suffered a bit for it as well. And one of them coulda' lied about him too. Maybe he had legal troubles that never made it into the Bible. Of course, he was with them for slightly different reasons. : )
Bingo!
And before we get to disagreeing again, just because they are in serious denial, or simply stuck inside the pit, does NOT negate that they are making choices. It isn't MY fault. Nor yours.
Intervention can work, sometimes. The point is to never stop trying to bring them out of that culture.
But in America, is it their choice to stay there.
Or to go there.
She's a hooker and has a customer list, some of whom are likely politically connected. Are you surprised at a weet deal in that case?
Kim has said that she lost track of little princess and wasn't in the bathroom with her. Kim didn't know where she was.
The drinking doesn't upset me. I'm just saying drinking doesn't make for good judgment, especially with young guys. There is a reason we have age limits for alcohol.
i believe you...I read the same thing...somewhere early on.
