The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

Hey, GG. :-)
How do you know she left them in the house and didn't drop them outside as she fell down the back stairs?
I learn so much from her. My college son denies there is such a thing.....actually questioned my sanity when I asked if he had one.....but if Wendy says it's so...who am I to question the most brilliant attorney on the planet?
ROFLMAO!
The times could be slightly askew because of the difference in clocks. For example, of the three clocks I can see in my kitchen--microwave, stove and kitchen clock on the wall--I can get three different times! Neither of my car clocks are in sync with my watch, and my cell phone clock is different, too!
We're only talking a few minutes, give or take.
I think she dropped then in the yard when she fell down those steps and some fool, never dreaming what was coming, picked them up and put them inside the house -- IF that is where they found them.
For all we know, they found all that stuff in the living room.
About the cash, I'm not buying it; unless that money was in her purse, they can't claim any money found in the house was hers -- even if it was in $20 bills.
Well, it's quite obvious your son isn't a "rich, white elitist" or he'd know about those rape jackets; all the prep schools must issue them.........LOL.
John, the second search warrant was released tonight; have you seen it? I can't find it.
From what I heard, the search warrant was almost identical to the one for Collin, but in Reade's room they got a computer and a cellphone, and not much else.
If this boy is suspended, why is that stuff still in his dorm?
Egads! Can you imagine if this case was about a cross-dressing male stripper??? Think RuPaul.
Well...I don't!
That makes a lot more sense than her being so traumatized that she ran out of the house without gathering her stuff. How could she run with only one big, ugly, white shoe on?
Actually, I think she did drop everything when she passed out on the steps. I had forgot about that. I'm going to call Ted....
AND, if RS had robbed the skank, why did he need to go to the ATM for cash?
I have felt this way since the story broke.
are you wondering if I prefer the lack of it? ;)
No, I think it's ugly. Just wondering...
Now that you call attention to her hands...Look at those monsters. They are huge.
I think the timestamps on the cellphone pics would be very accurate, since they come from the cell system....clock settings on digital cams could be off, though

That is strange....why would anything be left in there? Especially his cellphone! wow
the hair on her head reminds me of snakes.

Wendy Murphy and Nancy Grace will tell us that going to the ATM is exactly what SHOULD raise our suspicion - he obviously is going to the ATM machine as part of an elaborate fake alibi scheme - so he could argue that exact point you made, at trial!
How conveeeennient, they will say!
I can't believe nobody is selling Duke Blue ribbons!
