bbl, have to fix a quick bite for dinner then off to an Assoc meeting at the club. Have to pay my dues. ugh.

Planted some tomatoes today, some bush squash and some yellow cucumber and burpless ones. The are going to crawl on opposite fences. Hopefully.

I got a recorded call on my cell phone today that started with: "Hola, sempre..." CLICK. It was from Florida. Apparently there is a nationwide phone initiative going on.

Not on my cell phone, but they tried.

Squash and zuchinni are out of the ground now, and going great.

Tomorrow, I'll put in some peppers.

I spent the day working in the yard, waiting for a phone call, and working in the kitchen.

Beef stock, ham stock, veg stock, Demi-glace, flagolette beans, (A soup, to start things) hand-crafted brie and ham ravioli to cook in ham-hock broth with flagolette and swiss chard (shamelessly stolen recipe from Chef Hodges). Many preps are done for dinner tomorrow night.

The soup I described will be the opening round of a special dinner tomorrow night. The menu includes almost all species. Ever. Except dinosaur. I can't find any frozen.

8 courses, without dessert. Paired with wines.

I am chipper. Still a little shell shocked but the next few days..until Monday will erase a lot of that.

I'm actually in my livingroom watching TV with Sarah and Greg. (He told me I don't like you using G for my name.)

Practice session before I do the special event for the animal rescue.

My poor neighbors are putting up with it, as a way to help the fund-raiser.

The fund raiser is going to be the biggest mystery basket event of my life. I have no clue who is going to win, what their eating habits are, what religious/dietary/allergy contraints will be.

I am practicing my particular brand of "Oh, $*it, table #3 is half Ethopian Zion-Coptics, and the others are split between Jamaicans and Estonians.... What's the appetizer?" "Oh, and someone is lactose intolerant...."

going to bed early.. it was a long, busy, intense (etc) day.

Life is good so far. I havent really had to deal with the new unit yet though. Things appear to be squared away, so that is naturally a sign that they are jack up.

Thanks for being willing to help me with the new unit. If there are any troubles, FR is one of the first places I'll go with the problems. I know ya'll will take care of me.

It could be worse.

I have a real bed to sleep in without water dripping on my forehead. I ate a meal that the DFAC didn't provide (nothing wrong with a DFAC meal if I'm the HMFIC).

I've got frick and frack to bounce on my head to let me know that I've got a home... I love cats... really...

Nothing to complain about. Better than some. Much better.

In fact... I'm grateful for what I have.

It's a hell of a lot better than up in Alaska.
