I don't know if he wrote it or not...but the whole cd is depressing - though I can understand that - who wants to come to come home and find his wife dead in a bathtub with slit wrists....sad and depressing - and they'd only been married for a couple of years....
i'm voting for taylor and pickle :)
I don't get Katherine's appeal either. I can't even put my finger on it. She sings well, is pretty, and hasn't really done anything for me not to like her. I just can't connect with her. Something is ewwwwy about it her. I have to force myself to pay attention to her.
Well he was talking about most of the performances tonight more than Chris alone. He should've said that last week when everybody sucked.
The real Country singers get started in 30 minutes on Nashville Star. WOO HOO!
I thought it was a Gary Allan song - but it's not familiar.
I wonder if anyone will rip Bucky like they did Chris for picking a country cover of an alternative rock original. The original song was written by Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon and released in 1999 on their major label debut album Everything You Want.
LOL! Most of them don't know who they are. It was strictly modern-girly Country tonight.
There were a few surprises tonight. I expected Taylor to hit one out of the park. Instead he stood there like John Denver on valium, phoning in Country Roads. Disappointing.
Mandisa is getting on my nerves. She could have done something soulful and haunting...instead she mangled a perfectly good song by screaming and shouting (again).
Chris was a surprise. I got to hear his very mellow voice for the first time. He was good.
Elliott was OK...I didnt care for the song, but the vocals were good.
Katharine is another one who's in the same old groove every week. Mama Rose says "Go out there kid. Shimmy and shake. Show how sexy you are, and they'll forget your thin reedy voice."
Bucky still can't enunciate and was offkey for nearly the entire song.
Paris was....well, Paris. Nothing new or exciting there.
The two best tonight IMHO were Ace and Kellie. Both put feeling into their songs, as different as they were, and made the meaning of the words come alive.
Bottom three...Bucky, Mandisa, and McPhee.
Predicting Mandisa will go home.
ROTFLMAO!!!
If I didn't know better I would think you worked at a Pizza Hut in the Hollywood Hills area. ;-)
I've been trying to vote for over 30 minutes for Taylor and haven't gotten through yet!
I agree, except for that first night when there was 12 girls and 12 men. I've said it before, for this season that has been the best night so far.
Becky
I agree, its very strange... I usually like brunettes she just doesn't do anything for me, not sure what it is.
Yes. It reminded me of last year when Scott Savol mouthed-off to Simon. A couple weeks later and he was gone--maybe not because of that, but the comment didn't help him.
I managed to get through for Elliott. (50% of the time)
The guy's got a much better voice than Ace so I'm trying to counter the teeny-bopper and "brokeback" voters.
good night all - see ya tomorrow....
i keep getting though for the pickle! hope that isnt a bad sign! :\
He sang a cover of it but he did not write it. It was written by Matt Scannell lead singer of Vertical Horizon and released on their debut record in 1999.
i keep getting through for kellie... wonder whats goin on?
The expression on Simon's face when she said that was very telling. It was like "All right, missy, if that's the way you want it ..."
Amen!
