I also have to admit a bias against the older contestants, especially those with industry experience. If they weren't "discovered" before now, there's probably a pretty good reason...

You are so right! The Girl Power bloc lives at my house! Daughter and step-daughter, 10 & 13 years old, want me to vote for Kat 'cause they have to go to bed at 9pm!

But I don't see Mandisa's country perfomance as all that bad. I don't care for the genre but it didn't suck.

A better way of doing the show would be to pick a group and let them compete every week and then see who wins at the end.

One other thing about Paris....the identity thing is a catch 22. If you keep true to yourself then you get bitched at for being, as you say, one-dimensional. If you work the genres then you have no identity.

Paris will be great on Broadway. She just needs to grow up a bit.

Wow. Little harsh, isn't it?

Yeah, probably, not enough sleep for the last few days from other reasons. However, I think the impact from watching the download was pretty strong. I missed it completely on the show itself.

It looks like calculated, very deliberate, humiliation and cruelty, and I think Chris agreed with me. Taylor was just hanging his head looking very embarrassed and I think Kat reached over toward Elliott to comfort him.

I am surprised I have not seen it mentioned on any other forums. This morning I still would have sent the email but perhaps removed the one line about dying painfully. Ryan is bottomfeeder. You can download it from everythingelliott.com and perhaps see it more as I did...

You know, I just don't think that is possible. We will have to agree to disagree.

Ooops...typo...

I meant to say I'll be voting for TAYLOR and Elliott from now on.

Sorry for the confusion!

Paris would be great on Broadway!

I was picking her to leave last night but I still think she's a HUGE talent! All of this years Top 6 are!

Paris was sooo cute last night when she waved "bye bye."

I kinda got a bit choked up seeing her go.

Now it gets real tough!

Taylor - the fun one of the group. Ya gotta love him.
Chris - the Rocker! The kid has talent and seems like a nice guy as well.
Elliott - my personal favorite. Great voice, seems like a genuine guy you'd go out and have a beer with.
Katharine - Mega babe! Nice set of pipes. Can pretty much sing and do it all.

At this point, any of these 4 makes a good "idol."

Geez...I sound like a moderate. Ouch!

Ok, so while we are disagreeing, have you seen this?

"My prediction for who will head home tonight is Elliott. Despite his amazingly gifted and inspired performances, he neither “looks” the pop star nor sounds like the next “American Idol.” He is by far, one of the most-talented and gifted performers on the show.

He should win because he has the talent, the style and the intellect to stand out from the others in the record industry. He is gifted way beyond the standard talent show mentality and stands on the cusp of a career that will surpass that of any “Idol” winner. If talent alone was the deciding factor, he would win the entire show."

I agree ... now it gets tough! I guess I've been lucky this year; all of my favorites except Mandisa made it to the top four. (My faves being Elliott, Chris, and Taylor, not necessarily in that order -- kind of changes from week to week.) I really don't know who I'll be voting for from now on. I thought the earlier post about winning AI being more of a hindrance than a help to Taylor had some validity to it ... except that I sense there is a stubborn adult lurking under that fun-loving personality, and AI just might find it harder to push Taylor around and make him record cr*p than they realize. (Or maybe they DO realize exactly that, and that's why Simon has been so hard on him!)

So I really don't know who I'm voting for next week. Might even be Kat if she blows me away (though I will admit she'd have to REALLY impress me to get me to do that!). I think I will be going week-to-week now, voting for the best performances. May the best singer win! :)

What does that have to do with anything? Sorry, I am not going to agree with you that Ryan Seacrest needs to die young and painfully because he made a joke about Elliot. I'm a fan of Elliot, but I don't wish death on those who aren't.

I don't wish that either. Over the top.

However, see published photos of him leaving a gay bar in chaps would be sufficient...

:-)

I am strongly considering abandoning Elliott as a lost cause and voting for Taylor. Just put Elliott in a recording studio and turn me loose with a checkbook, and forget AI....

I have been trolling the twop site and another that is even less PC, and really enjoying the commentary on both. One night I sat and laughed aloud for hours.

My apologies if I offended you. I was trying to make peace by sharing a nice writing on Elliott.

LOL!!

Have you seen the commercial for David Spade's show? "Wait, Terri Hatcher is a guy?"

IMO, I don't think Ryan is gay, but that really cracked me up.

I hate when I do that. I thought you were trying to argue. Obviously, reading comprehension is not my strong suit today.

Here's a bucket of Peeps to smooth things over:

I think Paris went out with a great deal of class and a nice public statement when she handed Ryan her gum. Made me wish I had voted for her.
