Vanished girl returns as woman
By Jill King Greenwood TRIBUNE-REVIEW Thursday, March 23, 2006
Tanya Kach was 14 when she walked out of her father's McKeesport home more than a decade ago. The Cornell Middle School eighth-grader vanished. There were no sightings. No phone calls.

What an amazing story!
I hope she is able to adjust and get an education, WITHOUT being further exploited.
yeah i know, the follow up is well done
If the perp has a clever enough lawyer who can cite recent sentencing examples from Judge Cashman in Vermont, Judge Connor in Ohio, and of course child predator Deb LaFave in Florida, Hose (HOW appropriate a name is that for the perp?) ought to walk with community service and probation.
Then watch the perp sue the father for the cost of room and board for the daughter over the last 10 years.
Think it can't happen?
My question is about the parents. Ain't nobody living in my house for 10 years without me knowing about it.
This whole thing about grown children living with their parents and having "private" rooms is a bunch of crap. You want privacy? Move out and get your own place. You live in my house and I will visit every room.
All of the articles I've read on this story mention only a father. Any word on Tanya's mother?
Not always. Friend of mine is divorced, has 3 children & lives with her elderly mom. Very nice, large home but too much & too expensive for a widowed, elderly, tiny & somewhat frail woman to maintain on her own. The kids have a great relationship with their grandmother and the daughter with her mother.
That troubled me as well. This man has fooled everyone around him for a long, long time. This girl's passivity may have saved her life. He certainly needs to be carefully investigated.
