That was a pretty enjoyable round there!

It sounds like it will only be a matter of time before private HC is in AB. I don't know all the details, but many here have told me you can go to private clinics for MRI's and x-rays.

I'm not sure we do pay less. We pay in our taxes.

I believe that this article lists some cost differences between US & Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if HC is cheaper for you, as Canada is not nearly as litigious as the US.

IMO, with fewer legal battles than we have in the US, if private HC were allowed in Canada you could give us a good run for our money in terms of medical advancements and research. When a cousin of mine was sick with cancer, my aunt brought him to Calgary weekly for experimental treatments that he was not able to receive in the US due to legal issues. Of course, liberals might not like the idea, as the govt wouldn't be picking up the tab and its not 'equal' though.

That happens the other way around, too.

There are some treatments approved in the States that aren't approved up here.

The next time you're up here, buy some Ombrelle suntan lotion. You can't get it in the US, and it's the best available.
