Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Through shadows to the edge of night

New verse:

     |
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |

       |

       |

Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |

       |

Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think it must have been low battery... it was one of them first, then the other one within a minute or two.

Maybe there's somebody nearby that got a set. Does the vibe thing respond to the "call" button? Maybe it was somebody else's...

I wondered that... if someone was calling and making it vibrate, but it wouldn't respond to anything.

"THE F'IN STRUCK WON'T START!" How many pints have you had today? Maybe you're the one buzzing chica, rather than the walkie-talkies. ;-)

Seriesly... Cartman's got something really wrong with him. He's panting and his ears are bright red. Called the vet, they can get me in at 3:30 - I'm going now and wait and see if I can get him in sooner. I don't want him mingling with the other cats.

Rosie - I shoved him into your tiny cat carrier, because mine's still up at the beach house. He looks like those bonzai kittens in a jar.

Panting and red ears? Gotta be a fever of some kind.

What on earth did he get into now?

This is the story that's got Richmond all riled up today:
Park's 2 bears killed after bite
Boy, 4, scaled fence at park; Officials cite public-health risk
Two perfectly healthy bears put down because some "parent" wasn't watching his kid. The kid didn't even need any stitches.

Same here. And they won't likely get bears back there.

    Just plain stupid.

The kid broke the rules and the bears paid the price.

Granted....the kid's only four, so in that case his parents should have been reprimanded and fined.

Panting and red ears?! I sure hope he hasn't gotten into some kind of poison! The vet's office is the best place for him, in case he gets worse.

Uh-oh. I hope he just ate something that disagreed with him.
