Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It does help...though the aftertaste leaves something to be desired.

Yeah, for handguns they have a purchase permit. It lasts a year though. Mine should expire before I have cash for a toy. It is pointless socialistic garbage. They do exactly the same back ground check with the purchase permit as without it so it adds nothing except bureaucracy at the sheriff's office and an extra fee. Sometimes I wonder why people claim this is still a free country...

Or you can take zinc and C vitamins and skip them. I can't stand their after taste.
To: TalonDJ
My understanding of the way Cold-eeze works (and the other zinc preparations) is that the zinc actually coats the cold virus. It's applied, rather than taken, by either spray, swab, or in the Cold-eeze case, by saliva.

Exactly... the zinc coats the mucuous membranes in your mouth, throat, and nasal passages and inhibits the virus' reproduction. Simply taking zinc in pill form won't have the same benefit.

Okay, I don't ask this often, and if you don't have time that's okay. But do you remember (can you find) the last time I was debating traveling a long distance over a short time for a funeral of a friend or friend's relative?
I'm not sure it has any bearing on anything. It's just bugging me.
Thanks.

Ah! Learn somethin new every day.
I guess I am done for the day. Time to go home...
To: TalonDJ
A year?!?! that's better than here, 30 days from date of issuance..grrr, plus a week waiting between application for permit and when you can pick it up (here in RAT territory) now in other counties it can be same day service...sigh.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Ah wait, nevermind. I remember the situation. It was the wife of a high school friend who died from cancer.

30? eek! The wait here is about 3-5 days. Before shootmoot my new permit came in JUST in time for me to get the wood griped buckmark on the top of this pile. I odrdered it days before and it came in thursday and my permit came on friday. I picked it up just before I headed south.

Hate it when I mess up the formatting...

In the good news department...
Wife is wearing two of the same size shoes today. First time since the accident.
Jr. has a job interview tonight at 6 with a local sporting goods store. Prayers would be muchly appreciated. It's his first "real" interview.
