Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sounds great but I don't see any sheetrock on the agenda.
Please take pictures and report back!

I'll try to find a ~little~ gator. :-D No doubt a ~little~ gator would be ~appropriate~.

One of the plus items in the buy-vs.-rent decision we're facing, is that if we buy, we could get some little monsters like that ourselves...

Well, like I said, the itinerary is in pencil so we might blow off the fair and hang sheetrock instead. ;-)
Ramius is bringing the camera so we will have pics to share. Unlike ~some~ Hobbits that disappear for days and provide no evidence of what they were really doing.

You've been wanting that for awhile, no? So that could make the hassle worth while!
And you could have straight walls and stuff again, eh? Rose cracked me up with her description of your current place...

*sigh*
Anne's first comment last night after seeing the place inside and out was "You should have a dog. Why don't you have one?"
To: HairOfTheDog
Speaking of which...if it's nice on Saturday, could we do a Dell's run?
To: RosieCotton
What did they think of the place?
And I assume you went to Sharis so you could stop by your old/new job places... what did they think?

They could see the potential. ;-) And Anne wants to help me with some of the gardening and all...may come down some weekends. Ben works except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so it makes visits a bit tricky.
We actually went to Sharis because they wanted to find a good place for burgers and such and just ended up there. They didn't end up seeing where I work/will work. But they hadn't even heard about thenewjob yet, so I got to break the news on that... ;-)
To: RosieCotton
Well, Rose has been wanting kittens and puppies forever. I've been slower to come around, but I'm ready for it now.
To: HairOfTheDog
Is the hole digging something I could do on my own? Maybe I could get the materials this weekend and at least get started on putting in posts and all.
To: RMDupree
If you have time to stop for pictures, you're doing something wrong. Honestly every time, soon as I actaully see Talon all thoughts of taking pictures to appease the voyeurs goes right out of my head. :-)
You'll have a blast! When does he arrive?

Most landlords don't like pets in the house, though, around here anyway. And, I wouldn't want an outdoor dog, although that seems to be the norm down here. Up north, you couldn't have an outdoor dog, unless you wanted a dogsicle.

Gonna Buy Me a Dog
By Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart
You know my girl just called me up
And she woke me from my sleep
You should have heard the things she said
You know she hurt my feelings deep.
I'm gonna buy me a dog [A dog, a dog! Why?]
'Cause I need a friend now. [Say, you need all the friends you can get]
I'm gonna buy me a dog,
My girl, my girl, don't love me no how.
She used to bring me my newspaper
'Cause she knew where it was at.
She used to keep me so contented.
But I can teach a dog to do that.
I'm gonna buy me a dog,
'Cause I need a friend now
I'm gonna buy me a dog,
My girl, my girl, don't love me no how.
