Through shadows to the edge of night

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,

Hill and water under sky,

A new road or a secret gate,

And take the hidden paths that run

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,

Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,

Initial contact right before I went on vacation. Basically my first e-mail was "You're not going to hear from me for the next 9 days...been planning this for four months."
So for the past week-plus we've been tap-dancing around with e-mails. I got pictures (no, you can't see 'em yet), and I'm thinking I'm going to pass along my phone number Thursday or soon after, for complicated silly reasons. (You did remember I'm a harmless nutjob, didn't you?)

Thanks y'all... we're still trying to figure out whether we're going to rent or buy, and where, and stuff. Meanwhile, we've already started packing things to move and figuring out what we're going to get rid of.
