Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...yeah, in this case, kudzu would be a major improvement. ;-)
At least there really aren't any *large* pieces of junk left. Makes me feel a lot better about the place.

Good morning everyone!
Less than 72 hours to go....*happy dance*

Good morning!
In a twist of the normal, Matthew got up early and got to work...he's finished his devotional and already finished Science and is now doing reading.
On the other hand, Joshua, my "early to bed, early to rise" child, is still sleeping soundly despite going to bed on time last night. I bet he's going through a growth spurt. That means he'll need a hardy breakfast or two...I made a hugh batch of pancakes over the weekend and froze them...so there's that!

mmmm...pancakes.....
I've noticed that whenever either of the girls is behaving out-of-sorts for a few days, they have some sort of developmental leap right after.
Like when Alyson wouldn't sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time for a week and then *snap* just like that, she started talking in understandable sentences. And she started sleeping normally again.

Well...
If we had any questions about whether or not Tony was really dead it's answered on http://www.fox.com/24/ . They have a poll running about how you felt about Tony's death. We can only hope that tonight is Kim's turn. I hate to do that to Jack. But he can handle it.

some sort of developmental leap right after. That's interesting. [sip] I wonder if there's something to that...

Callin' in Sick
by Weird Al Yankovic
Hit my snooze alarm for the 27th time
Just don't feel like goin' to work - I think I'll call my boss, then I'm
Gonna hack and cough and wheeze
Swear I got some strange disease
What's that little twerp gonna say?
Hey
I'm callin' in sick today
Callin' in sick today
I could shine my pennies or clean my lava lamp
I could spend all day in my underwear wathing "Ernest Goes To Camp"
I could sit and count my hair
I could burp my Tupperware
I'm not busy now anyway
Hey
I'm callin' in sick today
Callin' in sick today
Ain't goin' to work, no way
Callin' in sick today
I can do anything I want to
I am invincible now
I'm on fire, baby
I'm alive, I'm alive, can you hear me, world?
I'm alive!
Maybe I'll spend all day staring at the sun
And trying not to squint
Maybe I'll make a huge color tapestry from
My belly button lint
When I'm sick of takin' abuse
I just make up some lame excuse
Freedom's just seven digits away
Hey
I'm callin' in sick today
Callin' in sick today
Ain't goin' to work, no way
Callin' in sick today

Being as how I'm watching the earlier seasons, I'm even *more* ticked off about tne end of the episode last week. That just wazn't necessary. It's like they're determined to eliminate everyone who was on the show in the earlier years, 'cept Jack. Why??
To: JenB
Me too... is it monday again? ug
To: RosieCotton
I bet it's for money. Popular actors on long running shows demand more money. Kill off all the old people, bring in new ones, save on the salaries.

It's not nearly as fun when you're calling in 'cause you're really sick. :-(
Hope you feel better soon!
To: TalonDJ
Yeah. Ug is right.
IT's cold out there, I have to find my gloves.

In that case, I hope the gal playing Kim demands a hughly unrealistic pay raise.
