Awwww.....aren't they cute?!
You can always bribe 'em out with tuna.
My neighbor at theoldhouse once called me to see if I had seen her cat. (No I hadn't) A few days later, I saw her cat and mentioned it to her. "Yeah....the [other] neighbors kept hearing cat meows coming through the floor. Neighbor Lady's cat had gotten shut in the crawlspace!
Ok....raisedbed is turned. I've got earthworms.....woo hoo!
I've had my fresh air for the day.
Whew...well, the fourteenth bag is pretty well filled. Also made a pile of burnables (wood pieces, some of which may actually be useable) and frap too large to fit in bags.
My back hurts, but it does look better...at least to one who knows intimately how it's looked along the way. ;-) Gonna eat something, and then I guess I'm ready for the truck if you're ready to come over...though I'm not sure, I may need to put the sideboards on, huh?
Now for food...
14 bags of stuff? Sheesh! The landlord is getting a good deal in you!
Considering they hauled off 20 pick-up loads before I got here...it coulda been a lot worse. ;-)
I'll come and look - if it's all bagged rather than loose, we may not need the sideboards.
Wow. I have trouble even fathoming the sort of people who could leave so much junk.
First summer we lived here we hauled away three pickup loads of ~oil soaked~ crap. Including pans with burned-in food, carpeting, etc. Every now and then Sam will still find an old oil filter. Nayber lady swears there's an engine back there somewhere.
In other news, half of thedrystreambed is done. I don't know what it is, but something about being almost 48 and "hefty-sized" but four hours of diggin' and haulin' rock is 'bout my limit. I should finish tomorrow.
Lil'- agreed on the IKEA. Love their stuff. Love their prices. But the last time I assemble something I said "never again."
And my blog visitor keeps visiting...and she still hasn't bought a t-shirt...sigh
It's been a lovely rain...all day, steadily falling.
Whew!
Steve took the jedis to the mall. I'm enjoying a cup of Pickwick tea...very strong...just the way I like it.
Afternoon All -
Hair-great kitty pics, Giget doesn't seem to excited about the kitty's 'adventures'.
Overtaxed-earthworms are our friends, now watch the dang robins come in and scoop 'em up.
Corin-our house had been 'apartmentized' before we moved in. We hauled out debitage out of most rooms and put in on the curb but the funny thing was that several folks asked 'if you're throwing it away-kin I have it'. Most of was hauled off that way. Had less than a pickup load left.
Computer cabinet - assembled.
CD tower - assembled.
Two nice bookshelves - assembled.
Cubby-rack-shelf-thing - assembled.
Work table .....
It's just a table, right?
Technically its a kitchen island thingy. Butcher-block top, handy storage shelf on the bottom. Nice height - perfect for working with fabric. It's unfinished wood.
No problem, thinks I. All the other pieces are IKEA "Antique Stain". IKEA sells cans of "Antique Stain" I will just stain the table "Antique Stain". So..... I prime all the pieces with conditioner and then I open the can of "Antique Stain."
It's nothing like "Antique Stain."
It's weird brown-gray milky goop. More gray than brown. Nothing stained with it will look anything like IKEA "Antique Stain". I checked on an inconspicuous part. Nope. It looks like wood rubbed with gray milk. There's no color developing. What the heck??!! I wuz robbed. Dangit.
I'll have to add Home Despot to my list of errands, now.
Dangit.
Sigh...
I just entered my address in here:
http://www.familywatchdog.us/search.asp
And found out I have 7 registered sex offenders within about a mile and a half miles from my house. (Six convicted of Lewd Or Indecent Proposals/Acts To Child and one convicted of rape.) One of the six lives right by the bike trail where I take the jedis now and then.
My property values are just skyrocketing...
Is it a beefy-tee?
Tidied up the garage even better than last week. I won't have to put boxes in the dining room to get thecar in!
Took a trial sip of muh grape concentrate "wine" that I've ignored for two years now. It's not vinegar, and it's strong!
:)
Wow, everyone is more productive today than I am. All I've done is homework. And I called home, always dangerous.
Post some pictures!!
The guys are still at the Mall. Steve takes them and lets them run up the down escalator.
~sigh~
Well, they do come home exhausted and so far with all their teeth.
How long have we been friends?
Here's Rosie with her load at the dump! 860 pounds of trash... Not bad for a morning's work...
I was very helpful unloading, as you can see...
On the way home we almost had an adventure! I saw... too late to stop... a big leather ottoman on the shoulder of the freeway that had tumbled out! It looked great! But in the time it took for me to loop back around and get back on the freeway, its rightful owner was there picking it up! - Dang.... woulda been exciting if we'd gotten busted tryin' to steal it!
Guys at the mall....scarey!
Heh....figure I'd keep it if it passed as a tolerable vineger. If not, it was going into the compost pile. I racked it and it's started to bubble.
