My shoer has come and gone. I don't know if I'm gonna bother taking pictures of their feet all newly trimmed to post to that farrier board or not. I trust my farrier. Not sure why I wanted all of them to bless the work :~D
Bay feels great. He bolted off running when I turned him back out.
My farrier had his apprentice with him, a guy who is evidently also giving training and lessons, while wanting to learn shoeing. He's been here once before too. I let him trim the pony. Mark did Cyn and Bay in the time it took him to trim the pony ;~D
I didn't mind letting him practice on the pony at all. She's easy, her feet are simple, and it probably doesn't matter a whole lot what kind of trim she gets. I appreciate that Mark didn't even ask if the apprentice could do Cyn, or Bay, certainly. He knows whose feet really matter.
Got to talking with the apprentice though, about ecurbh and I going up to the arena and taking lessons from him this month. I discussed ecurbh's experience so far, and that maybe now is a good time for him to learn some advanced kind of riding and that it doesn't have to come from me, probably better if it doesn't. I said "He just wants to ride well and ride trail. Doesn't need show stuff, doesn't need to learn the perfect western pleasure jog trot, just good solid riding." The trainer knew what I meant. What do you think hon? He trains at Trails End. Maybe go up there some evenings? I'll go too and tool around the arena on Bay while he works with you and Cyn. Interested? Or you like winging it?
OOO, you should do it at least once, so we can see pictures of a lesson in progress. I'd also be interested in seeing WHAT he started with and taught with the critiera you set. Very interesting:)
Well everything with Jenny has faded away:(. She took a nap. and now nothing.
I still don't think it will be more then a day or so till he gets here. I'm going to run down and see her for a few minutes before AI starts. Yes, I'm an AI fan...LOL, it's a fun show.
