The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It is time for a new thread, isn't it? Soon....

Back in from mowing. The way our yard is, I have about four or five small yards, and I like to take a break and move the sprinkler after each section....

Two left :~D

Who's in the house? Got a worm question. Yall know what praziquantel is? I'm ordering wormer and this is a combo with Ivermectin (Zimecterin Gold) It's 6 dollars higher.

Haven't a clue. I always order a generic evermectin or ivermectin - usually there are sales at $3.+ per dose and I order a case at a time.

Praziquantel is the only one, I think, that kills tapeworms. We use it once a year.

Horses running tonight when we let them out to pasture for a bit. Featuring Cyn because she ran more than usual :~D

Here you can see the neighbor dog who used to come in the pasture and chase them, but she got rolled pretty good by both mares a while back, so now she runs up and down the fence, but on ~her~ side.

I'm only letting them out on this for about an hour, till it dries up a bit.

Good Morning.....

No need to remind you all what day it is....

Still cloudy and we could have a thunderstorm this afternoon. Pretty soon, I will have to bale the yard. My daughter's 4-H Club is having their horse show Sunday. I hope it clears out for that.

Those were great pics. It's rained for a week here in Western PA and the horses have been out for only an hour this week. I suspect they'll be apes when they do go out, even the 28 year old.

Great pics Hair! I think it's kind cool how all your horses are almost exactly the same color, or they look to be in these pictures anyways. And I know you hate it, but that yellow stuff in the background is really pretty, at least when it's blooming. Cyn's looking really good. It looks like she's finally figured out what to do with her feet when she runs.

I just talked to Inge_Cav on the phone. He was in Hattiesburg, MS and was on his way down to Gulf Port (or Biloxie, I can't remember which) to visit an old college buddy who lives in that area. He said the number of downed trees and the amount of hurricane damage still evident was just incredible. I guess those of us fortunate enough to have been spared that kind of devastation kinda forget about it after the news spot light is off. I told him to take lots of pictures so he can show us when he gets back and he said he would.

I'm glad he was getting to go after all he's been through in the last 6 months or so. He really needed a vacation, even if it's to someplace like that. Another college buddy is coming down too so they should have a really good time. The wife of the guy who's hosting the get-together has already arranged for their two little girls to stay with the grandparents because she knows how rowdy they can get when they get together. Cav will have to behave himself somewhat because of the medication he's on, but I told him that he would probably have more fun watching the other two act a fool. LOL!

They do end up looking very alike in color, though I think Bay is the lightest and the pony the darkest, they do all at least match.

Cyn was remarkably coordinated yesterday, after some embarrassing attempts to run and buck at the same time. She looked good as long as she kept it simple and did just one thing :~D

Yes, we are in full scotch bloom! Everything's yellow.

Glad to hear Cav is getting to go on a trip to see old friends... That's always good. I'll be interested to see the pictures.
